Excellent Hotel, staff and room. Food and facilities indoor and outdoor pool first class. Everything was perfect. Will definately stay here again as a base for Island as only 15 mins walk to town centre or pick bus opposite hotel.

Room Tip: Ground floor room overlooking outdoor pool was excellent. Stepped outside patio door onto sunlounger...

Had a fantastic 4 days at this hotel, staff were great from the moment we walked in the door ensuring that the room was right and comfortable for my 72year old mum, ensuring that the table in the resturant was roomy and accesable and each and every member of staff we came across was polite and welcoming. In over 30 years of travel I find it had to remember if I was ever treated better. 5 stars in a 3 star hotel. Paul H.

Spent four nights at this hotel and have nothing but good things to say. Our room (102) was on the ground floor overlooking the car park. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and quiet. with plenty of storage space, tea, coffee etc and toiletries. The catering was first class. There was a large choice of hot or cold items for breakfast every morning with extra choices available on demand (smoked haddock etc). We ate dinner in the restaurant, and also in the bar area. The restaurant choice was a bit limited but excellent quality. The bar service had a wider range of choice and was also excellent. Drinks were very reasonably priced, including tea and coffee. I did not use the facilities such as indoor or outdoor pool areas but they looked well maintained and inviting. The staff at this hotel are all friendly, helpful and efficient, and definitely make this hotel a great place to stay. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of St. Helier. The one downside was that the bus service to this hotel is very poor, but I suspect that will be the case with many hotels in St Helier.

Just spent a 4 day stay at this Hotel for the Battle of Flowers Week. Hotel is of a good standard for a 3 star hotel although the bedrooms do need decorating (just a little tired ), but must say spotlessly clean and spacious with plenty of storage. Good facilities in the room except as we had really hot weather air con would have been great, room did get very hot especially at night even with the window open. Did find that as we were not so nimble on our feet it did take us nearer 25-30 minutes to get to the see front.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Stayed b & b and must say the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice from full english, continental or anything else required would be cooked for you. Did eat in the bar a couple of times but found the menu could do with a bit more choice. All in all a very pleasant stay and would stay again.

Spent a week at this hotel and although the rooms are in need of modernisation they are spotlessly clean and spacious. Plenty of storage space, tea, coffee etc and toiletries. Breakfast excellent every morning with plenty of choice, we ate in the bar 4 evenings and the food was very good. In a good position 10- 15 minute walk into the centre of St.Helier with a large supermarket very close by. Both pools clean and very often empty. The staff at this hotel are all friendly, helpful and efficent and definately make this hotel a great place to holiday.

Had a wonderful time in this hotel. The food was good, the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Phil Cunningham, one of the management team, who had a good local knowledge and was extremely helpful. My husband, daughter and I would definitely return if we didn't like trying new places each holiday! In response to previous reviewers comments, yes there are older people in the hotel, but I was pleased about that as they were friendly and quiet and respectful to others. The rooms are in need or a refurb as they look rather old fashioned, but they are still neat and tidy and everywhere is spotlessly clean. There seems to be good wheelchair access to everywhere too. Breakfast is good and evening meals are nice too. Not a massive selection, but enough for most people. The pool is clean and often fairly empty. There Was some traffic noise in our front corner bedroom, but it was fine during the night, just started in the morning rush hour. Definitely the best 3 star hotel you could go to. Thank you !

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room further back from the road. The management did say they would move us if we wan...

Had a great week at the Monterey. Excellent staff who were very efficient and helpful. The breakfasts were very good. Although we were bed & breakfast we ate at the hotel on 3 occasions, again excellent. The hotel was spotless and would highly recommend to anyone wishing a holiday in Jersey. Denise W.
