Had a lovely five days here with my sister , the staff really couldn't do enough to help and we were very impressed by them. The hotel is a little far out of the town so for that reason only I would probably stay somewhere nearer the centre next time as my sister has slight difficulty walking. It's only about a ten minute pleasant walk though. Rooms were spotless and serviced every day and there was a good bar menu that served a selection of food up until 9pm. Free wifi in small lounge area only. We were b&b basis only and a lovely buffet breakfast with good choice was on offer. There was different entertainment on each night but not really my cup of tea to be honest ( the guy selling jewellery was good though, )
It was a great relaxed break the staff definately made the experience a good one.

Room Tip: Quite a lot of stairs so ask from ground floor or next o a lift if you have problem with stairs

We are delighted that you felt that you were provided with great service. Thank you.

The Norfolk Lodge Hotel is in St. Helier and is a short almost flat walk from the town centre. We are away from the night club area of the town and this is a positive for many of our guests along with the added benefit of a large free on-site car park.

Most of the hotel is served by a lift and if future guests wish to be located near accommodation which is served by a lift then please do feel free to request this at time of booking.

It is wonderful to learn that you enjoyed a 'great relaxed break' at the Norfolk Lodge Hotel.

Thank you.

We were allocated this hotel so may not have chosen it ourselves. However it was very clean and in good decorative order. The room was fine, not plush but had everything we needed and the bathroom was a decent size. The staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was buffet and more than adequate and the cooked food was hot and fresh. We had a meal in the restaurant which was okay but nothing special. We half wished we had tried the bar menu instead as it is extensive and probably better value.
I thought I would use the pool but didn't get round to it. The stained colour on the bottom is a bit off putting which is a shame as it looks a nice pool.
I would recommend this hotel as long as you are able to walk into the town it you want a meal out.( 10 minutes ).

I'd booked a weekend away for the bank holiday weekend at the beginning of May and, after much consideration, opted for the Norfolk Lodge on the basis of i) the price, ii) relative location and iii) wifi.

The wifi is only in the lounge area above the bar, which was fine for me as a solo traveller - it meant that I wasn't cooped up in the room if I hadn't headed out for the day, but it may be worth considering if you plan to work etc in your room.

I had a single room which was, naturally, not especially big but had everything that was needed. This included the obligatory tea and coffee facilities, digital TV and more than ample wardrobe facilities.

The cleaning staff do a fantastic job, indeed I've never really been to a hotel before where the floor in the bathroom is cleaned everyday - despite the fact that there wasn't any real need to. So, whilst the decor may not be very up to date it more than makes up for it with hygiene.

Breakfast in the restaurant in the morning was a routine cooked and cold affair. The hot food was very good, as were the pastries and cereals, however the range of fresh fruit was a bit more limited. I had dinner in the bar the first evening and had a surprisingly excellent steak and, on the second evening, had the carvery. I'm not a massive fan of carveries anyway, but it was certainly no different than elsewhere.

The manager (I believe) was very helpful when I checked out in marking down all the places I *might* be able to get an airmail stamp for New Zealand - unfortunately it was bank holiday Monday and this didn't work out for me, but the thought was there.

All in all, whilst it is a bit off the beaten track from the centre of St Helier it served as a perfect base for me.

The hotel is situated on the ring road around St Helier. This means if you are driving out to any part of the island you can avoid the traffic and one-way systems of the town itself. On the other hand it is quite a trek for older people or anyone with slight mobility problems to walk into town - about 15 minutes brisk walk.

The hotel is comfortable although not with lift access to all rooms. The room we had was fine but the bathroom rather awkwardly designed - any overweight perspon might have had problems fitting into the toilet space! The staff were friendly and helpful and the food good if not very exciting. Again the room we had was rather noisy - traffic could be heard and people walking in the room upstairs etc meant lack of a possibility of a late rise.

Room Tip: Check you have lift access and try not to be located at the front of the hotel

Thank you for your comments.

Our large car park, large public lounges along with our indoor swimming complex do add to the attraction of the Norfolk Lodge for many of our guests. Equally, we are away from the night club areas of St. Helier - but offer in-house entertainment on most nights May - September inclusive. St. Helier may be easily reached on foot for most guests.

Paid parking is available in the town centre if required, should this be needed, and a public bus service is available from outside of the hotel.

We hope that these comments are helpful and look forward to welcoming all future guests to the Norfolk Lodge Hotel.

Thank you.

We stayed at the Norfolk Lodge for a week in May. On arrival bags were taken to our room and picked up from the room on departure. The room was clean and tidy, good linen, comfortable bed, ample tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast good, both continental and English, plus extra items to order if requested, i.e. poached eggs/haddock and so on. Dinner was waiter served and food was varied, enjoyable and nicely presented. Waiting staff were extremely friendly, helpful and worked hard. The deputy manager/maitre d'hote was very efficient and charming but also helpful and assisted the staff in clearing and making up tables which is unusual. There is a nice pool with pool towels plus a lovely terrace and entertainment in the hotel on most evenings. The hotel was round l5/20 minutes walk to the seafront and town. We didnt find it a problem, but some people in our party did as buses from the hotel were not as frequent as expected. Transport on the island is very good and it is possib le to visit most places on the buses, which leave from the centre of town, but we hired a car for two days which allowed us to visit a few more out of the way places. We have stayed in a number of 4 and 5 star hotels and would rate the Norfolk lodge a high 3 star plus hotel. The staff were all extremely hardworking, helpful and friendly and a credit to the hotel.

This hotel was magnificent and well cared for . The premises were clean, quiet, well decorated and the room large and light. The staff were most helpful and could not do enough for us. They even went to the trouble of buying Ryvita crispbreads to help my wife's digestive problems. The breakfasts were very full with a wide range of cooked and continental food to hand and extras on request (kippers/haddock for breakfast expertly cooked) Sited very close to the town centre with a bus stop outside the door for longer journeys. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Intend to return.
