A very nice hotel with lovley staff, especailly on reception. Having said that, it is Pensionor Haven. There is loads of facilities including the small but warm pool, the Gym and Coffee Shops. The restraunt was brilliant with amazing service! Breakfast was the best! Room was great, but very hot due to no air con. We booked Junior Suite number 215

Room Tip: Choose a high quaility room.

Stayed in the Mayfair Hotel for 3 nights last week. The hotel was well situated being only 5-10 minutes walk from the main part of St Helier and is best described as a good 3 star. Our room was clean and fairly spacious with a large, well appointed bathroom. We also had a small table with two comfortable chairs which made a nice change from having to sit on the bed and a large wardrobe. Unfortunately we found the room to be very warm so had to have the window wide open whenever we were in there. Under normal circumstances I would prefer not to have to do this in hotels but as our room was located away from the street it felt safe to leave the window wide open at night. The hallways and stairwells were warm as well. One thing lacking from the room was a safe.

The restaurant/breakfast room was vast but chaos was avoided by having guests choose their cooked breakfast from a menu which was then served to the table. There was a self service buffet for cereals, fruit and juice; tea and coffee was brought to the table as was the toast. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The reception staff were also most helpful and booked various tours for us as well as taxis. The sun terrace was a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink and was furnished with tables and chairs as well as sun loungers and some parasols.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street can be noisy.

We spent 3 nights here in June and found the hotel very adequate. Near enough to the town centre to walk to all the attractions but not when carrying a heavy bag. Dinner was excellent and the service was very quick. No room television was available due to a breakdown but we were able to watch the World Cup games on the big screen in the lounge. The staff were very helpful in reception. I have said 'Yes' for 'good airport access' as we caught a bus from the bus station which ran every 15 minutes. Free wi-fi is available in reception and we were able to check in and have the sheet printed there.

Room Tip: The higher floors have a better view. The lifts were very quick. Watch out for heavy bedroom chairs.

We went back to Jersey to stay at the Mayfair Hotel, it is in the heart of St.Helier and just 5 mins walk to the shops and bars. The hotel is clean and the staff are great, the food is very good and in the evenings there was good entertainment. There is a pool and also a sun roof where you can sit and have a drink or read a book. The hotel was used as a hospital when the Germans Occupied Jersey which was run by a German nurse, and of course their is so much history in Jersey so it is worth a visit and also there are some lovely parks and lovely beaches everywhere is so clean. We hired a car to get about the Island, but there are local buses and lots of tours and lots to see.We went with Premier Travel which is based at Dereham. The staff in there were very helpful and made our holiday a good choice.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room which was just above the Hotel car park which was very quiet.

Just returned from a 4 night break as part of a group. Having read prior to departure some of the review I went with trepidation. No need to have worried as most of the negative comments were unfounded. Yes the rooms were rather warm but having a room in the middle of the hotel it was safe to sleep with the windows open, the room was clean and fresh. The food was good varied and plentiful and all the staff were pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 327 middle of the hotel but away from the main roads

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Hotel Mayfair we upgraded to a junior suite carpet was dirty (they weren't clean at any point of our stay) towels were no longer white as we're the sheet. The room was also noisy from the kitchen. On Saturday night we were woken at 3 am with some guest making a terrible row in the car park. Guest were shouting out of their windows asking them to be quite. It took over half an for a porter to deal with the problem.
