Ray & Marilyn

This was our first trip to Jersey which has been made all the more pleasurable by staying at such an excellent hotel. The staff were friendly, the hotel clean and comfortable and the food excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to our family and friends. In our opinion, the hotel is worthy of more than the 2 stars given!

We have just spent a week in this hotel with our 17 year old daughter and all of us loved it from the moment we stepped through the door and were warmly, welcomed by the manager, who clearly loves his job and treats guests and staff alike in a personable, friendly and enthusiastic manner. This made for a lovely, relaxed atmosphere as clearly all the staff seem to be very happy too and were always extremely helpful, polite and friendly, even when badgered by those nit picking type guests with silly complaints like "Haven't you got a computer room?" or "What happened to the beer mats last night?"!! Every bit of the hotel was always spotlessly clean and comfy right down to the pretty sun terrace and pool changing areas. The beds were large and comfortable with crisp cotton sheets. Breakfasts were brilliant. Dinner was lovely and great value. The children's play room was really carefully thought out, not just a token ball pool. Our second floor, wonderful seaview room even had cushions for the balcony furniture. Free morning coffee in the loungebar - so many little thoughtful extras. Live evening entertainment was of a very good standard. The hotel is clearly gradually being updated but our daughter loved the vintage, retro parts! All in all a thoroughly relaxing holiday stay.

Room Tip: Second floor seaview especially with balcony if you want it slightly bigger.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and were delighted at our choice. We only booked the hotel as it was recommended by friends. The setting of the hotel could not have been better, located directly on the seafront and only took us around 15 minutes to walk to the city centre. The hotel itself was warm and very spacious. As the other reviewers have stated the hotel was rather dated in parts BUT it was very clean, very good staff and the food was excellent. Our bedroom was a large seaview balcony room and was serviced everyday by a maid. The island of Jersey was beautiful with so many places to visit, we will return to Jersey again next year and will certainly be staying at this hotel.

Our first visit to Fort d'Auvergne eight years ago with our two teenage sons has now developed into just my wife and I returning each year. Experiencing hotels in Britain and abroad we have concluded that this hotel offers so much more. The friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel are second to non, the location is splendid and the sea views from our bedroom window is at times breathtaking. I used to visit Jersey as a child in the late sixties and early to mid seventies then to return on my honeymoon in the eighties. It is sad to see the demise of the tourist industry on the island and the Jersey Tourist Board would do well to look at Fort d'Auvergne and advise other hotel chains how to treat guests and make their visit so enjoyable and relaxing that they would wish to return

My husband and I booked a 7-night break to jersey and stayed here. From arrival to departure everything was perfect. The receptionist greeted us with a smile and explained about meal times etc. Our room was on the first floor with views over the sea. The room was compact and the bathroom a bit small but was adequate for our needs. I am sure the hotel could do with some TLC as the decor was a bit dated. The quality of food and service in the restaurant was excellent and the staff very friendly and chatty. The housekeeping team made sure that everything was clean and tidy.
We could not fault the hotel and would recommend it to everyone. We will certainly be going back there

Room Tip: If possible ask for a room facing the sea. These tend to be quieter and they do benefit from lovely views.
