We have just got back home from a wonderful week in this hotel. The young manager and his staff were outstanding and were so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel as most people say was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. I do have to add a special thank you to John the Maintenance man as without him our holiday could not have been enjoyed. He sorted the problem that my husband had with his CPAP machine so once again John THANK YOU. We would reccommend this hotel to all our friends and will definately be going back next year

Room Tip: rooms 1 to 4 on 1st floor overlook the beach

This is our second trip to this hotel the first one being in 2010. We stayed from 8th to 15th September. Once again we were extremely impressed with the level of professionalism of all the staff who could not do enough for you. Special mention should be made of Philip the General Manager who always made time to talk to you even though he was busy. All the restaurant and bar staff were friendly, especially Lucian in the restaurant who was always smiling and made you feel very welcome - a great asset to the hotel. We booked half board this time. We were on holiday for a week, but every night there was a change of menu with a choice of 4 or 5 different starters, main courses and desserts - very good value for money. The food was excellent. Plenty for breakfast as well.

We had a delightful room. In 2010 we had a sea view room with balcony, so we were lucky enough to have a similar room again - Room 21 - what a lovely spacious room - plenty of hot water - bath and a shower - king size bed - we were spoilt!. Well worth paying the extra for the marvellous view of the lunar landscape of the beach when the tide goes out.

We had a marvellous time in Jersey - it was the air show on the Thursday of our stay which was excellent - all within walking distance of the hotel - the hotel also arranged a bus down to the show.

We shall certainly return again as the hotel is in a very convenient position, being 10-15 minute walk from the centre of St Helier or a short bus trip in (bus stop outside the hotel). Trips out can also be arranged by the hotel to certain attractions.

Keep up the good work Philip and your staff and see you next year!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view room with balcony - well worth itl

We stayed at the Fort d'Auvergne on our family holiday which included the JerseyLive music festival. We found the location, staff, and cleanliness outstanding. Our balcony overlooked the sea and rocks and was perfect to relax on after our busy days. We had a large and tasty breakfast with healthy or less so options(bacon, eggs and sausage goes down well on my table!)On one occasion we ate an evening meal there too, which was also lovely. Some of the decor of the hotel was perhaps slightly tired in some areas, but, that was really the only thing we could have any criticism of. Special mention to the superb staff who were always friendly, helpfull, and informative to make our holiday perfect. Nothing was a problem for them. Thankyou.

Booked this hotel sort of last minute through a hotel booking website. Price was reasonable and location looked good on the map. We weren't expecting a whole lot given the price and star rating but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located in a lovely part of St Helier right on the beach and only a 15 min walk to town. There isn't even a need to walk to town as the bus stops right outside the door.

The hotel is a little bit dated but it is nonetheless comfortable and very clean. The swimming pool is kind of small but just perfect for a nice relaxing dip. The restaurant is fantastic we ended up eating there every night and each meal was different while being very very tasty.

The most important thing about this hotel though is the staff. They are all wonderful, so friendly and helpful, they cannot do enough to make sure your needs are met. We really enjoyed talking with them as there is a mix of nationalities so everyone was interesting in their own way.

We will certainly stay here again as we have lots more of this wonderful island to explore and would not think of using anywhere else as a base.

Our room was number one and overlooked the beach and the promanade on the first floor. It was very large with two single beds and was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets white and crisp, although it was strange not to have a duvet, just sheets and a blanket! The view was amazing and just about made up for the bathroom which was a let down. It was tiny and cramped, the shower was so small you could not wash yourself properly and there was no bath, The shower had no power and was fixed in one position high on the wall. As soon as you started washing yourself the shower curtain wrapped itself around you, not a pleasant experience! The toilet looked as if it was blocked all the time the water came half way up the bowl and didnt feel very hygenic. The extractor fan came on authomatically and was so loud you felt as if you were in a MRI scanner (which I have been) I hated the bathroom so much I think it might stop me booking to stay at the Fort again, which is a shame cause it has some nice points such as the view, the size of the room , the breakfast and evening meals and the staff who are all friendly and helpful. However, in my opinion, they need to consider a complete re vamp of the bathrooms, if room one is an example of all the bathrooms in the Hotel.

Room Tip: definitely try to get a large room overlooking the sea but if you are not on the top floor be prepar...

Whilst the hotel's decor is a little faded, all other aspects of the hotel made a memorable stay for my wife and myself. Any slight problems were rectified immediately and the staff were so attentive and so helpful - we include all staff in this from chambermaids to reception, dining room and all those we came across during our week in the hotel. Of course we must not forget the manager and his assistant.

Food was excellent and always a good choice on the menu. At our advancing age we found that breakfast was too much, but this is a good fault as one can take as much or as little as required

For a relaxing time we can thoroughly recommend the hotel and St Helier's facilities are a short bus ride away.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea are pleasant

The hotel decor is a little dated but that doesn't stop it being a lovely place to stop. Staff are friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay ideal. Our room was small but sufficient, with a view of the bay and the amazing tidal range - a 36 foot difference last week! Breakfast is a buffet type with a selection of continental and/or English food. Unfortunately the cooked breakfasts were only warm, every day, but that is similar in many hotels. The evening meal we tried was ok, served within 2 minutes of ordering, so had obviously been cooked and kept warm. We then preferred to eat out. If going to Jersey and not hiring a car try the Bus rover tickets, a five day one costs about £24 and allows use of all bus routes and you can get on and off whenever you want.

Room Tip: Some floorboards are very squeaky but staying in a 2nd floor room means you don't hear them.
