Returned after spending 4 nights at the Fort d'Auvergne. Much the same comments as the other guests. Double bed we booked was two twin beds joined together, room carpet very dated and there was an extractor fan outside our window cutting in regularly which was a bit annoying.(book a seaview room) Hotel does really need some renovation, had to go to another hotel to print our boarding passes.(no internet or printer area for guests, wi-fi only) On the plus side we got a good deal from the hotel, breakfast was very good and the staff are top class. Location is a short walk to the town centre and in a quiet area with nice views.

Room Tip: "Rooms with a seaview are worth the extra money"

Two adults and a teenager, stayed 3 nights. Friendly staff at all times, offered lots of information. We stayed in a family size room overlooking the sea and was cleaned each day with towel change. Good location with approx 10 minute walk into the town, bus stop directly outside also. Breakfast was lovely with lots to choose from both hot and cold selection. Swimming pool good size, used everyday with no more than 5 people using it at the same time. Hotel is slightly dated in decor but thoroughly clean with a good atmosphere, not the hilton but for the price very good value.

Room Tip: ask for sea view

Just returned from 3 days in Jersey staying at the Fort d'Auvergne Hotel.

The good bits,
Overall we were pleased with the hotel, the staff were friendly, the cooked breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a great location by the sea front. The Reception staff are friendly and are happy to help plan your itinery and recommend good places to go/eat.

The not so good bits
The double bed was tiny! barely large enough for two average sized people! Having said that the mattress was comfortable enough, and waking up to a view of the sea is rather charming! The adjoining walls were quite thin and could here people snoring next door. There was no bath, just a shower that was a bit inconsistent in temperature control.

However none of the above would stop me staying there again, It was great value for money and I would recommend it to a friend...

Room Tip: Get a room with a sea view! I don't recommend walking through the tunnel from St Helier bus sto...

A nice quiet location with great sea views, some good local restaurants and a comfortable walk into St Helier. The rooms were comfortable and adequately equipped.
The beds were comfortable although we were somewhat disappointed to find that a double bed was actually two twin beds pushed together.
The evening meal was okay but I wouldn't rate it highly, breakfast was good tho.
Where this hotel really scores highly is in its beautiful location and the friendliness and helpful attitude of its staff, they were first rate.

From the second we walked in the staff could not do enough for us, nothing was too much effort the service really was exceptional. We had a sea view room, I really would recommend paying that tiny bit more for it, you can't beat looking out over the sea. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is the thin walls, unforunately as light sleepers we were woken a couple of times in the night by loud snoring coming from the room next door, as well as at 7.10am when they turned the tv on to watch BBC breakfast! The rooms & swimming pool area was very clean. When we arrived in Jersey we got the bus from the airport for £1.70 each to liberation square in st helier and then as we had bags a taxi from there to the hotel, which was less than £5. The hotel is about 10minutes walk from the main st helier area, so not only a great hotel but a great location too!

My wife and I (late 70s) usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels and we were a bit concerned that this is just a 2 star but our fears were quickly allayed and we would not hesitate to return. We have never been in an hotel where the staff were more helpful and while the hotel is dated it was clean and comfortable. We checked out the Radison Blue and the Royal Yacht but still prefer the Fort D'Auvergne.
We were in sea view room 24 with balcony and found it very pleasing.
The hotel is well located with 4 different routes into town, the shortest taking around 10 minutes and the longest over half an hour. We walked a few times from the hotel to St Aubin and with a coffee stop that took around an hour and 45 minutes.
The pool was clean and good for a short swim.
The food was very good but our only niggle was the absence of condiments/sauces etc. These were never offered along with the meals but Georgi soon got them for us when we asked.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room with a balcony, will cost more but worth it.
