“Great Service”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Had a lovely 7 night stay in this hotel in July. Staff could not of been more polite or helpful. The hotel location was excellent with wonderful views. Our bedroom view was not the best but it was peaceful and the room had everything we needed... tea making facilities, hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel, good tv etc. We had a lovely breakfast in the restaurant with an all you can eat buffet, good selection of fresh fruit and yogurts were also available. We ate dinner once in the hotel which was also very good and a reasonable choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts. The service in all areas was exceptional as was the cleanliness of the hotel. The only negatives were the 10am check out time and the bedrooms been dated with old type carpets and pictures. However these negatives did not effect our stay and would book again.

Had a 5 night break here last month and we weren't disappointed very clean, comfortable and excellent food. The hotel had Stunning views of the sea and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. As other reviews have commented the bedroom was basic but clean. My boyfriend and I used the hotel swimming pool on most evenings which was modern with superb views of the sea. The only negative was that the hotel had very limited WIFI and we would of liked to have used the WIFI in our bedroom. The hotel also has good restaurants close by in particular Roseville bistro. We would recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Fort d auvrgne hotel with my husband. The hotel had a very average looking frontage but was well positioned and had good sea views. Hotel porter most helpful with our bags. The check in was very swift but gave us all the required details. The hotel bedroom was very basic but clean and fresh, the bed was of a good quality and so was the linen. Food of an excellent standard and quality, given what we paid we did not expect such a supreme breakfast. The hotel would certainly benefit from some modernizing. We genuinely felt valued as clients and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. A very delightful stay.

My wife and I had a fantastic time in Jersey and the hotel, Fort d'Auvergne, was wonderful; It is basic but very clean. On our return every day our room had been tended to and was fresh, bright and clean. The bar area was nice and relaxing with a great view of the beach. The meals were well presented and prepared to a high standard by the chef and his team. The dining room is very smart which made the evening meal a rather nice event.
I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will return myself.
Well done to all the staff and thank you.

Just back from first time in Jersey, July 26th. Our stay in the hotel very pleasant and place is very clean. Good breakfasts, very helpfull desk staff. Member of staff took cases upstairs and liked that courtesy. Well positioned and excellent having bus outside into St Helier (we never used it just walked) Had a seaview but was a little noisy at night with traffic, roadworks (not hotels fault) would stay again but would choose balcony room. Bed very comfortable and nice clean soft towels everyday. Restaurant staff very good but a little slow in clearing away plates between courses and tables became a little cramped. Excellent indoor pool.

Room Tip: high sea view.

Me and my partner stayed here for a long weekend with BA over a very hot weekend in July and we were sadly disappointed. Starting with the staff, the absolute sweetheart Anna and the lovely Tony on the reception staff were wonderful. Despite other issues, we could not fault the staff customer service, they were wonderful. We also had the pleasure (or misfortune given the circumstances!) to meet the night porter for a 4am start. Without requesting, Tony and Anna made sure that we had access to the restaurant for breakfast before we left the morning of our departure. The night porter (whose name evades me sadly) was wonderful, he made sure we had everything bar the cooked breakfast (which was not an issue), we had drinks (warm and cold) as we needed it, he even put the news on to make sure there were no issues at either Jersey or Gatwick that may impose on us. The two highlights were the staff (some of the best i have ever had the fortune of meeting) and the breakfast (which was 95% perfect). The only flaw is that there were baked beans advertised but not available (from what we could see).

However, this is where the positives drop off, we were put in the wrong room for what we had paid with via BA - we had booked a double room, yet were given a twin - romantic weekend killer!! Having not found our booking form we couldn't 100% say we were in the wrong room and after a 4am start in the UK, we were shattered and just wanted to rest. The room was all clean apart from the poopin in the toilet! LUSH!!!
Other than that the bedroom was very clean, the beds (despite being the wrong type!) were surprisingly comfy! However the room was ROASTING! There was no A/C and no fans, we were absolutely roasted, the biggest problem is that there was no airflow through the room, even with the windows wide open the room was just so hot!! We did get a fan for the second night (and the staff had proactively ordered extra without prodding) however they were quite small, they just blew the warm air around and we were limited to plugging them in in a non ideal place. This was due to there only being two plugs in the entire room - generally that doesn't bother me, but it did mean we couldn't get the fan particularly close or near the beds to blow the cooler air in at night. Our room was on the back of the hotel (in the middle) and we had a lovely 6am wake up call from what sounded like the A/C unit (for the restaurant), given we had all the windows wide open this was quite an awakening! The only other annoyance was the TV was too small for the room, and we had no reception on a few occasions, which would have been nice. The room was outdated and needed a little refresh, but it was comfy and clean. The bath room was clean and looked relatively recent, though the shower needed to be better, it had a tiny head and was weak, i love my showers and i was disappointed by the shower :-(
The WI-FI was restricted to one room only and although personally this bugs me, i can see it does put the tech people in one place. This would be fine (though not ideal or favourable) if the internet was fast, however it was unbelievably unreliable and clearly couldn't handle a couple of people or more on it. It was <1MB on download for me, and when several people came in to use it, I just ended up giving up!
We used the bar, which was small but had live music, the OH enjoyed the music, but when we wanted a drink there was no-one to serve us and we ended up having to wait for someone to eventually appear. The selection was ok and me and the OH both got a nice coo drink!
This should be a wonderful hotel, but without the staff i think i would have gone elsewhere despite paying. The staff truly make this place, and the wonderful attitude and service they have is sadly overshadowed by the issues above :-(

Booked here as was recommended by some friends, hotel was spotlessly clean but basic. The reception staff were very efficient and friendly; they gave me a map of the island on check in as well as some brief information about the local bus services. The hotel had an average size bar with views over the beach, a nice bright airy lounge. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed but our room had a rather small but functional bathroom. Food was top class as was the restaurant service. Will definitely stay again
