Just had a long weekend stay at the Legacy Hampshire hotel in St.Hellier Jersey. Was our first trip to Jersey with a view to return if we enjoyed our stay. We found the Legacy Hampshire hotel was excellent value for money, stayed in a standard room on a bed and breakfast basis, All staff was very courteous, nothing too much trouble, rooms and hotel very clean, bathroom spacious, large choice of food for breakfast, excellent standard of food, same excellent standard of food for evening meal if you choose to eat in hotel, lovely bar area, we had never been to Jersey before so hired a car at airport (reasonably priced with eurocar) to discover Jersey's coastline and attractions, the hotel proved to be a great base as only 10 minutes walk from centre of St. Hellier with its many shops, bars and nightlife. Would definetly recommend to friends and look forward to returning ourselves.

We lived and worked in the Island for a number of years but some years ago now and had been back on several occasions but purposely stayed out of St Helier. When the opportunity came along to attend a Conference over 3 days on the Island and extend our visit we were helped by the Conference Agents with a number of "Conference Travel and Accomodation" Packages and we chose the Hampshire for its location to the Conference Venue and Prices bearing in mind a Party of 9 Couples some of which were in advancing years.

We were in NO WAY disappointed for it was clear that the Conference Agent had been in close liason with the Hotel Management and provison made for the 6 Vehicles arriving off ONE ferry and one by Air. We were met by the Management who went to great lengths to ensure that the arrival was as easy as possible. Clearly the Reception, Dining and Bar Areas had ben recently re furbished and the reception staff of good quality. All the rooms were good although ONE booked DOUBLE Room turned out to be a single but that was swiftly rectified to the couples satisfaction.

Although B & B terms were those offered in the Conference Package pre arranged evening meals were made available at agreed costs and times to suite the party programme. Breakfasts were good consistently and those who stayed on for extra days on B & B terms were well pleased with their stays.

The Hotel is not "Central" but situated only short walks from the attracations of St Helier itself and although on a busy road there were no complaints about traffic noise from any of the party.

The Hotel, and indeed the Conference Agents, were tested and found well organised when one of the party beame unwell during one night and Hospital Treatment, including a short term admission proved necessary, Reception and Management were sympathetic and fully considerate in arranging matters and minimising the possible worries of the partner.

While continuous days of cloudless blue skies may have helped, the whole party were well impressed with the hotel and would return there again.

This hotel has just been refurbished. We stayed for 3 nights with friends, we both had premier rooms which are very clean, fresh and modern. The staff are very attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Probably credit to the Manager, who we found to be a very pleasant person to talk to.
The breakfast included either Continental, or full English Breakfast, which one cannot fault. A good display of food was available, plus the toast prepared for you and served at your table, not having to use one of those self service toasting machines, made a welcome change. A good selection on the evening meal menu, was resonably priced. The quality and quantity was excellent.
Overall I give this Hotel 5 stars !!!! We will defiently be coming back again.
Probably one problem could be the car park during the busy season, if everybody brought a car with them could be problems parking. But who cares enjoy your holiday.!!

We booked a standard room - wish we had upgraded, the furniture was shabby and the room very small.

We didn't upgrade because we had read that the premier rooms still had very thin walls and thought we would be wasting our money.

The walls adjoining the next room to us (28) and the bathroom of No 27 were almost transparent and I was very familier with next doors toilet arrangements during the night.

Breakfast was very good and in fact exceptionally good. Would have liked a menu to see what was actually available. The waitress just said "full english", when in fact we could have had other permitations. It was well cooked and hot though.

The evening meal was awkward really, the chef had had an accident and they closed the restaurant for our first two nights and as it was the Jersey "Tennerfest" we strugged to get into decent restaurants. Our tip is if you want to visit a particular restaurant in St Helier book it before you get to the Island. When we eventually got to eat in the hotel restaurant the food was very good.

The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were helpful.
