We felt at home here - which is not something we often say about places which are not, strictly speaking, our home. It was the atmosphere - one felt welcome here. There is no "quality assurance" or "customer service excellence" because this is the real thing - people who are genuinely friendly and kind, you are allowed to be yourself. And the breakfasts deserve a word on their own - such lovely abundance and generosity in the midst of a austerity stricken world... We chose the place due to the excellent price, but ended up much more satisfied than we were in hotels a few times more expensive.

We spent 10 days visiting the Channel Islands which included 3 days in the Mornington Hotel.
We were very happy with the hotel, the service was perfect, the food was perfect, the hotel was very clean and had bags of character and charm.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jersey without hesitation.

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome and the owners couldn't do enough for us, really friendly and helpful. While the hotel was a bit dated, it was spotlessly clean. The room was big although bathroom was a bit on the small side but adequate. The bar was fun, some right oldies on the juke box. Excellent location for town centre, beach and restuarants.Only down side was floor boards very creaky.

Stayed there in October with my family (six of us) and had a very pleasant stay. Clean, well run hotel not far from the city centre. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit and local yoghurt included. Very good value for money too. Would stay there again.

Staying at this hotel helped make my holiday, a great experience.
The owners were great and the breakfast outstanding, with as much local produce as possible. This was one of my best experiences of the holiday.
A true Jersey experience not a bland Travel Lodge one.
The value was truly excellent.
Other reviews mentioned the furnishings in respect to the fact that they were dated.
Well wow...dated but well kept.
Not dated, but a veritable time machine to my 20's again ( I am 53 ) with the politeness and old fashion customer courtesy to match.
It was a pleasure to be transported back to less stressful times.
If you are looking for a slick factory hotel with nothing of interest and with a higher price this wouldn't be for you.
If you are looking to be treated as an old fashioned hotel guest and not a just a number, for the price, this cannot be any better.
This hotel gave me the Jersey experience that I hoped for.
So this review is as I promised ( a bit late I know)............... from the two Welsh guys...thanks.

First impressions are shabby (nice avocado bathroom suite!), but the place is clean, and the hosts very friendly and helpful. We were there with a large group of runners for the Jersey Marathon, and practically took over the place. They were very accommodating, putting on early breakfasts for race day, and helping us to find a place for 42 people to eat. On site bar with reasonable prices. Short walk to the centre of town and to the beach and the harbour. A real bargain and a great base for short break. Breakfast, although only continental, was ample, with cheese, ham, toast cereals, croissants fruit and yoghurts. Even for runners with huge appetites there was plenty! The only down side was street noise. Traffic one side, and pubs turning out on Saturday night. Ask for a room at the back, and take earplugs.
