Comfortable, relaxed and welcoming!

If you want a friendly, clean and welcoming hotel in St Helier - look no further than The Mornington. My group of ten friends all stayed there for the best part of a week at the end of June (2021). Our hosts, Christina and Phil, made us feel welcome and ‘at home’ from the start. What nice people - always smiling and looking to do whatever it might be to enhance our visit to Jersey.
The old-fashioned breakfast room was very comfortable. The food was plentiful and fresh. With the exception of fried breakfast, there was a lovely selection - cereal, Jersey yogurt, toast, platters of cheese, ham and fruits, croissants etc. All very lovely and relaxed. ‘Seconds’ we’re always on offer. One of my party had to leave early one day, before breakfast. They made her up a lovely packed meal and even added some chocolate for good measure.
The stairway is quite narrow but there’s a lift if you’d prefer.
The rooms are adequate - comfortable and clean but not modern. They are not ‘high end spec’ but that’s reflected in the reasonable pricing. Some of the rooms have a sea-view (just!).
You’re on the edge of the town centre - maybe a ten minute stroll into the centre and quayside. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around and a pleasant park opposite.
Thanks Mornington for making our stay so comfortable.

Brilliant owners & staff who really look after guests.
Lovely clean rooms & comfy beds with towels changed daily.
Had to leave before breakfast service so Christina had a picnic pack ready before my early morning departure.

Room tip: Try & get a room away from the main road

Just back from a weeks stay. The hotel is very friendly, the owners are great help when we needed anything. There was only a picnic breakfast which was brilliant enough to do lunch as well. Its close to lovely beach and a fantastic park just a stone throw away.

I had last minute requirement to stay and managed to book the hotel for just one night. Some insist on two. When I checked in the staff were very friendly and provided some helpful information on St Helier. Some of the other reviews say honest. I can't say it better myself. This is a very homely place to stay.

Yes the decor is dated, but Mornington is super clean, comfortable & central. Christina & Phil are helpful, hardworking & really very nice people. Due to Covid there was no breakfast room but each morning we had a perfect food pack prepared & ready, even when we started work early: this included super varied fresh fruit salad, good croissant & sandwich & yoghurt that saw us through til teatime. The shower worked well & bed was comfy. It’s noisy as next to busy road but I always take earplugs away as lots of central hotels are, so I was fine. Mornington is opposite the beautiful Howard Davis Park which has a moving story behind it. Walk through the park & you’re a short road away from the beach. Phil & Christina are great for help with local knowledge & anything else you need. We’d stay again defo!
