we have just come back from jersey,we stayed at the Norfolk hotel.on arrival our bags had to be left for the porter to bring them to the room, meanwhile 30 minutes later we were still waiting.in reception we were told to use the lift ,as there were no stairs. we don,t like confined spaces.later on we found the stairs. At 6--30pm we went for dinner and we were shown to our table, sit down the tables are all sharing in the restaurant.we were not pleased at this information, two minutes later another couple arrived at the table.good news the couple were brilliant ,they were from Dundee. the meals were very good, the waiteress was the best. 8-30 was breakfast with a choice of ceareal and full English .the rooms were very good, cleaned well every day.The hotel was handy for the shops the howard davies park, where films were shown free of charge all week.handy for buses or coach trips.

Room Tip: less noisey rooms overlooking car park

We have never written a review before but felt we had to in this case to let people know how wonderful we found this hotel. We stayed half board on a package holiday. Hotel positioned well for town, park and within walking distance for most for sea front. Staff so friendly they were like family by end of week and nothing too much trouble. Bedroom lovely with good sized bathroom. Single room for one of our party best she has had. Spotlessly clean. Hotel cafe very useful, and always striving to please. Cannot understand why this hotel does not have a five star rating and several of our party said the same. Many people we spoke to have returned year after year. Would recommend to everyone. Food cooked excellently. Only improvements, nice to have biscuits with the tea and coffee supplied in rooms and blind on bathroom window. Bar prices seemed high.

We stayed here the beginning of July. Room clean, bed nice and firm (which we like), bathroom needs modernising, only problem was no curtains or blind for the window and only one small towel rail, so we had get new towels every day as they wouldn't have dried if we put them on the rail. Maybe, another rail for hand towels may be better and a bigger one for bath towels. Shower above bath, be careful with water one minute nice and warm the next cold, we were on the top floor, whether this made a difference don't know. All staff could not fault, from cleaning, reception and restaurant. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, cereals fruit, toast full English, so no problem. Unfortunately, didn't like the evening meal, so didn't eat there again. We are in our 60's but there seemed to be an awful lot of older people. Value for money for accommodation.

Room Tip: You can hear through the rooms, (next door snored) but after reading other comments top floor seems...

Excellent value hotel well located in St Helier with all attractions within easy reach. Near Howard Davis Park which has evening entertainment for the peak season: we saw two band concents. Nice atmosphere in the bar and reception area with none of the sterility that seems to go with 4 and 5 star hotels. Staff very friendly. We are an older couple and agree not a particularly good place for people with children although there were several families at the hotel when we stayed. Breakfast and evening meal were what I would describe as traditional British cuisine but all you could want with a good choice. I would particularly praise the reception and dispatch arrangements when arriving and leaving by coach : very unusual in our experience when we are usually just been dumped outside hotels on other package holiday we have been on. The outdoor swimming pool was a pleasant place to sit on a sunny day.

Stayed in this hotel with a group of friends for a short break.
Yes, there are plenty of elderly guests, but many of these guests have been going to the hotel for many years, no better recommendation than that.
Hotel has most things required, but its main asset is its staff. Everyone I met was professional, courteous & very friendly. The star of the show though is the head waiter Joseph. This gentleman is the hotels biggest asset.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and pleasant ,however, the hotel was very basic and seemed not to quite have enough income to finish its upgrades. Breakfast was almost presented in a school refectory manner, thrown on the plate , and being told told sit at a table that is still not cleared from the previous sitting was not ideal. The average age of the clients was probably about 70 years old which is fine ,but perhaps potential clients should be made aware of that when reading about it.
