We stayed here for a week in July and will definitely return. Rooms are basic but well laid out, very clean and the staff are excellent. Breakfast was very good and all the staff were polite and helpful and everyone greeted you with a genuine smile. We went to a couple of evening entertainments (won the quiz!!) and the Liverpudlian gentleman who arranges this is an absolute star. All public areas well maintained and pool area excellent. Such good value and highly recommended.

Room Tip: We were at the back of the hotel and the room was very quiet. There aren't any toiletries in th...

A very clean, well maintained and fairly large hotel having 100 bedrooms and accommodating 170/180 guests. It is ideally situated near the main shopping centre (a 10 minute walk) of St Helier. The marinas, beach and bus station are all within a10/15 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and furnished, adequately equipped with plenty of storage space. The bed was very comfortable and the room was kept very clean throughout our stay. My wife and I were staying on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfasts were of good quality with plenty of choice. There are numerous restaurants and pubs within a 10/15 minute walk from the hotel where you can have an evening meal if required (however no pub in St Helier serves food on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights). All the staff in the hotel were very friendly, efficient and helpful and organised tours can be arranged through reception. The atmosphere within the hotel is very friendly. There is a nice outside swimming pool (heated) area and a snack bar providing good quality food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The whole of the outside area is protected by thin strands of nylon(well above head height) to prevent seagulls, pigeons etc. landing. This keeps the entire area nice and clean. Overall a very nice hotel providing a standard of service better that we have experienced in 4 star hotels.

The family run Hotel is so very friendly with helpful staff who cannot do enough to make it a great stay. The few nights of entertainment were great. My friend had a cycling accident while there and staff even drove me to collect her from the hospital (which is also good) spacious rooms. very good pool area.

first time my wife and I had been to Jersey and I could not believe the Norfolk was only classed as 2 star. It was spotlessly clean with really friendly staff and I could not fault the food. Our only complaint was our shower which had very little pressure so we used the bath more, but on the whole a great hotel .

We normally visit Jersey out of high season, but my son and I wanted to see Jersey's round of the National Speed Hillclimb championship at Bouley Bay, so that meant a July visit. The hotel we usually stay at was really expensive so I turned to Tripadvisor for help and that pointed me towards the Norfolk at around half the price of our usual hotel.

This was a great move - a very nice, clean comfortable hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable with a large bathroom - all we needed. Breakfast was standard stuff, not a vast choice but served hot, swiftly and with a smile.

Daytime temps hit 30C while we were there so the swimming pool was very welcome!

Location is good - within easy reach of the shops and restaurant.

For future visits, the Norfolk Hotel will now be our first choice.

Although I don't think I would return to The Norfolk, however I soon grew to love a lot of things about It.

Positives: the wonderful staff, the other friendly guests, the cleanliness and spotlessness, the beds, fluffy white towels every day
Negatives (IMO): limited evening meal choice, the pool area, lounge areas need facelift, a bit to far to harbour etc if difficulty walking, no views (we had room 212 which overlooked the bins!! And was woken at 6am most mornings by refuse being put out and seagulls screeching and scavenging in the bins)

However Jersey is beautiful and worth a visit.

Room Tip: Not rooms 208 to 214. Can't comment on other rooms.
