“Great views but high prices for average food”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

A wonderful location right overlooking St Brelades Bay, especially if you get a table at the front. However you do pay for this and we found the quality of the restaurant, food and service didn't really warrant the prices. These aspects were all good to average and we very much enjoyed our meal, just that we felt it was a bit over-priced.

“Disappointing food and bad attitude”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

There is a good reason so few tables taken on a Saturday night!
We ordered crispy duck which was not crispy and was tough. It was as though it had been microwaved and we left most of it. I was amazed not to be asked if everything was alright and it was a mistake not to have told them the reasons why it had not been eaten,
I had ordered "shredded beef in satay sauce" - when this arrived it was sliced beef which clearly had a layer of fat running through it and was tough and inedible. I asked the waitress why this was not shredded beef (and I would never have known it was satay sauce) and she said shredded beef was something else. The manageress (?!) came over to explain that this was steak and I said I had ordered shredded beef - we were astonished when she said yes that was what the menu said, but that the menu was wrong!! We didn't eat it, there was no apology and it wasn't taken off the bill.
The drinks (just diet coke) would appear to be poured from a large bottle and slightly flat.
Hugely disappointing and I would neither recommend nor return to this restaurant.

“fantastic take away food”
Reviewed 24 January 2014

we had a take away meal for four of us on New Years Eve. The food was great and prepared quickly even though they were busy in the restaurant and it was NYE. We have eaten here before when we last visited Jersey 5 yrs ago, and the food was just as good.

“A bit different”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

Jersey is well-known for high-end, high-quality and high-price restaurants. They are lovely. But if you want something more down to earth (not to mention cheaper!) Jambo Chinese restaurant is the place to go. It's above a (posher) restaurant called Sugareef at St Brelade's Bay, and enjoys superb views, although the cluster of bins around the entrance is a little disconcerting. We found the food to be perfectly ok - bog-standard Chinese, just like most takeaways back home. The service is efficient , and the place is family-friendly (unless you have a child in a buggy - getting it upstairs wouldn't be easy!)

It's a bit different, and best of all, it's about half the price of most other restaurants in the area! They also do takeaway, and will deliver.
