Staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly at all times and nothing was ever a problem. The breakfast was absolutely lovely with a nice menu range as well. The Eggs Benedict I would particularly recommend. The hotel itself faces south looking out over Gorey harbour all the way down towards Grouvile. Gorey Castle towers behind the hotel

I was staying with family for a long weekend and had a single room on the back of the hotel. To my mind, it was a bed for the night.

The bathroom was nicely styled however the rest of the room was average. Like much of the overall styling of the hotel, I just felt it was ever so slightly tired and out of date. Particularly the doors. A lick of paint would make them seem less youth hostel-esque.

My single biggest annoyance was that the walls ceiling and floors were all paper thin so I heard the conversations of every other guest who walked past my room, people moving around upstairs and showers and baths running. I will note that the noise didn’t stop me from getting a good nights sleep each night.

Overall, if you can live with all that I’ve mentioned then the quality and style of the hotel is reflected in the price and the AA 3 star rating, but personally as hotel, I am not sure it was for me.

P.S: I debated for a while whether to give the overall review 4 stars. My inclination is that 3.5 stars would be the realistic match

Room Tip: the eggs Benedict were really nice at breakfast. The top floor rooms on the front can apparently get very hot during the day

Given a voucher for a meal and was really delighted with food and service. Cosy restaurant with attentive but not over the top service by very personable staff. Excellent meal with lovely little Amouche Bouche additions in between courses and a very naughty but tasty plate of homemade petits fours to finish off. Food was very tasty, well presented and good choices available.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Moorings 6 course meal this weekend and it was just amazing from start to finish. A good range of choices for the courses plus homemade bread to start, watermelon shot between starter and the main and sorbet after the main course. Very generous size portions and incredibly delicious. Absolutely loved the petit fours with our coffee. Great service and a beautiful scenic place to eat in Gorey, Jersey! Would highly recommend

Both opted for house special crab mac and cheese and it was delish. Big portions and so tasty! Lots of bread in bread starter and generous portion of fries. Great spot on harbour. Service friendly and efficient.

Great food, great service and a museum-like experience when it came to decor, style and layout. It is not unpleasant - and the food and service make it a place worth visiting - but it is so unusual these days to find something so outdated, and once you head to the toilets, slightly down at heal, that it is like a museum curio. Go for the time warp, stay for the grub.
