“Chapmans on Tour”

We have just returned home after spending 4 days at Longueville Manor Hotel. We had a wonderful time, the hotel is so well organized and the staff are all so accommodating, so helpful and polite. We were upgraded to a suite which was beautiful. The four poster bed is to die for, footstools are provided to get into the bed! and in the en-suite bathroom and to lay in a huge bath watching the television.....such decadence. The quality of the food is unbelievable and again the attention to detail. All this made such a wonderful break and we will certainly be returning.

We stayed for 4 nights from 21 October 2012, we have had meals at the hotel before but decided to spoil ourselves and book a short break. On checking in we were upgraded to the Tower Suite which was fabulous pure luxury. From the moment we arrived we were treated to impeccable service, sensational food and luxury accommodation. Will be returning hopefully in the not so distant future.

My second visit in a month, with a third planned in two weeks time, it's tennerfest in Jersey so you have to take advantage and all my friends want to eat here. After a visit I am sure you will understand why, the surroundings a 16th century manor house, attentive staff, with just the right amount of reserve and good food. You really can't go wrong it's so relaxing, if you eat here outside of the tennerfest festival or off their table d'hôtel menu, the cost will start to rise, but when comparing this hotel with similarly establishments around the world it is still good value for money, about £43 a head, with an aperitif, half a bottle of wine per person and coffee. Of course it all depends how much you pay for the wine, my choice was towards the lower end of the scale, but each wine was excellent value. I usually find that at the better establishments there is no need to splash out on wine, as the sommelier has done his job and each wine is the best in its class and Longueville Manor is no exception.

The reviews say it all - this is a great hotel.
We stayed for a week and the service and ambiance opf the hotel made it a really relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Nothing is too much for the staff, who'll see to your every need and make you feel at home. The grounds are welcoming (great for walks) and look out for the red squirrels.

OK - it's a bit pricey, but the quality is worth it. The room we had faced the front, and unlike others we didn't feel there was much road noise unless we had the windows open wide. Complementary tea and coffee facilities were provided on request, and the rooms had a good TV, DVD (plenty of DVDs to borrow) and just about everything you could need.

Breakfast was cooked to order and there was a good selection on the buffet. We only dined at the hotel restaurant one evening, but the food was fantastic as was the wine selection.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Rooms seem to vary a lot, so it may be worth asking for details about available rooms.

Just returned from three nights at Longueville Manor (Room 8 at the front). Overall, excellent. There were staff everywhere and always courteous and friendly, especially in the dining room. Several different public rooms for drinks, very nicely decorated in white/mushroom colouring, with candles. Food was extremely good - initial chef's 'amuse-bouches' nice - could have been varied over the three nights! (that's being very picky). Table d'Hote menu was absolutely sufficient - 3 choices for each course.

We asked for tea-making facilities in our room as we had to leave pre-breakfast for a flight and a clever box was delivered straightaway with all you need - free of charge. Room service otherwise delivers, but expensive, with delivery charges. We ordered afternoon tea served in our room one afternoon - sandwiches, scones with cream, small gateaux etc - set out properly on the table in our room with table-cloth etc. Room was plenty big enough for this, sofa, huge bed.

There was a wedding on during our stay, from which a fair amount of noise rose into our room, but it was finished by 7 p.m.

A great choice.

Room Tip: Room 8 at the front, overlooks the parking area. Small amount of noise from the road, but not distur...

My wife and I were able to stay at Longueville Manor Hotel, St.Saviour, Jersey at the end of October 2012 for three nights. On arrival we were greeted in the car parking area and escorted to the Reception. We were made very welcome and assisted to our room (suite) which was very comfortable and well furnished. Throughout we dined well, served by very competent and knowledgeable staff serving excellent food. An extremely polished stay - highly recommended to anyone looking for attention to detail and homely friendliness. It hasn't changed since we last visited this lovely privately owned hotel 56 years ago ! There is a swimming pool (seasonal) and lovely grounds. You will need to travel to reach the sea, but this is an island and the sands etc are not far away ! I am unaware of any fitness centre or spa as I did not require them.

Room Tip: We took the room offered - I have no complaints - I didn't examine other areas.

We stayed for one night in a Classic Room (booked via Hotels.com secured a good rate and breakfast) which we had expected to be small and poorly positioned being the cheapest (at £130 !) of the 3 grades of rooms. Absolutely wrong - the room was light, very well furnished and roomy, looking out the front of the hotel (although the garden is at the back), we didn't feel as though we were in (relatively speaking) the cheap end of the accommodation.
We arrived in time for afternoon tea, log fire roaring in the sitting room, which ranged from Champagne and oysters (decadent !) to a substantial rack of cakes and pastries. Although we ate out so that we could try a local restaurant we did have the pleasure of a post dinner drink from a substantial wine and spirits list.
The staff were wonderful - professional yet human ! Breakfast was gorgeous and again the staff were professional, attentative whilst again being personable.
Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 16 - Classic - was front facing nicely furnished
