September found us back to our favourite place for the 6th or 7th time. We love this hotel, ideally situated for access into town, but far enough away to give a relaxed feel.
What can I say that I haven't said before?
The hotel is well presented, spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are ever attentive and eager to help and make your stay a happy one.
It is lovely to be remembered from previous visits, and our room 312 was one of our favourites.
The food is well presented and without exception, excellent value for money when the amount of choice and quality is taken into consideration.Comfortable bars and reception areas make it a comfortable place to relax.
We enjoyed a fortnight of mostly good weather, which together with the ambiance of the Merton made a most enjoyable holiday.
Special thanks to the Belverdere team of Peter,Isaac and David and the Lobby Bar lads,Tim
Kallen and Bogdan.
We will be back!

Great hotel, value for money and top service. Staff were incredibly helpful, whether it be arranging a late check out or finding lost peppery. They really made the stay so relaxed. Facilities are good, food of a decent quality and varied ( in the main restaurant , which is a buffet each night). Entertainment most nights which is of a good standard.
Will definitely be going back.

Our room was extremely comfortable and immaculate. The evening buffet was very varied, but of average quality. However, we tried Bonneti's Restaurant one evening, and the quality of the food there was very good. Most of my special requests were dealt with quickly and efficiently, not least my requirement for a quiet room and sheets and blankets instead of a duvet. However, I was a little disappointed when my request to swim in the leisure pool using a snorkel, because of a neck and shoulder problem was met by a refusal. This meant that I could only swim on my back, which wasn't easy due to the shape of the pool. Overall I thought the Spa was great for children and families, but not for couples, though the jacuzzis, steam and sauna rooms were very good.

Room Tip: If you are a poor sleeper, ask for a "garden" room as these face over the inner courtyard...

The Merton is a very well run hotel in the same group as the Pomme d'Or but in a much quieter location. Our room was very nicely decorated with an excellent powerful shower. The tiling was done superbly. Food is from a buffet where the hot dishes are changed daily with an International flavour including Mexican. Puddings are cold again with variety. Wine is reasonably priced and unless you have given your credit card details has to paid by cash. Breakfast is again buffet. Staff are very professional with some very good waiters from Kenya. It is a large hotel and big enough so that a school party is in no way obtrusive. Cleaning staff are very pleasant and everywhere is spotless. Only minor niggle was that some of the cold dishes would reappear. Good value for money.

We've just returned from a five night half-term break at the Merton Hotel and thought the place was excellent. We stayed in the Merton Suites - ideal for us with young children. The suites are very well-designed, spacious, immaculate and well equipped. The facilities at the hotel itself (nest door) are great. A choice of good restaurants, great food excellent value. The Aquadome is amazing - super pool with slides etc. We were swimming outside at end of October! Best of all is the Flowrider - reasonably priced, friendly instructors and (at this time) not crowded.
Jersey makes an ideal holiday destination and, for families, the Merton is the ideal base.

Room Tip: The Dorrell suites are considerably larger than the Dodo suites and have a partition wall separating...

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in a lovely hotel. Rooms are clean and well serviced with all you need for a comfortable stay. We were on the 5th floor (rear) so it was very peaceful and we slept well. All the staff we met were polite and helpful and immaculately dressed. The ground floor lounges and dining rooms were beautifully furnished and everything was very relaxing. As well as the Belvedere dining area there was Bonnetti's Italian restaurant and a small American themed diner. We ate in Bonnetti's on one night as we had been given a 10% off voucher on arrival, and the food and service was first rate. Breakfast was buffet service with good hot and cold choice. The hotel was in a quiet one way street near Howard Davies Park and about 15 mins walk to the centre of St Helier. Across the road the Merton had an aquadome with pool and fitness centre - fine for kids and fitness fanatics.

Spent 6 nights here in October 2013 on a half board basis as a first time over 50s solo traveller with Saga and really can't speak highly enough of this wonderful, immaculately clean and comfortable hotel and its staff. Very spacious room and en suite, really good hotel facilities including indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzis, sauna and steam rooms etc., wi-fi, and exceptional food with seemingly endless choices on offer. A 10-15 minute walk takes you into the centre of St. Helier and you can travel anywhere on the island on their excellent and very reliable bus service for a maximum of £1.70. Can't wait to go back again next year. Huge thank you to all at The Merton.

Room Tip: Fellow travellers mentioned that rooms located next to lifts can be a bit noisy at night.
