Just returned from a holiday in Jersey, we stayed at the Merton and was impressed with it, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless the hotel is large but very light and spacious with plenty of lounges to sit in and enjoy a light snack or drink, we stayed halfboard and the food was first class with a very large selection at breakfast and dinner, good location just 15min walk to st helier and with a good sized car park, the Merton deserves 5 star rating not 3, the kids entertainment was first class the team work so hard, one of the male members was also a member of a singing boys band called Force three who performed at the hotel one evening as part of the weekly entertainment in the Star room , they was really good as was the
the entertainment all week,we will be back

Room Tip: not directly under the nightclub

I travelled with my job to Jersey and had an excellent time. This hotel is nice with the very helpful staff. Lots of rooms in an almost labyrinth style hotel (made it a bit hard to find your room from time to time) and a big breakfast buffet with basically anything your heart could desire for breakfast. I never had a chance to try out the aquadome, but heard that it was very nice.

The hotel is close to the beach and it was great to go down to the beach for a walk and a swim to relax.

The flowrider has developed a serious fault. I have been to this hotel several times, and on the back of that I booked a treat for my daughter and son in law as part of their honeymoon. I booked here only because they have the flowrider, as they are used to using them on the cruise ships, and loved them. They say they really do not know when it will be repaired, and it has been out of order for several weeks. Can't understand it, surely they must have a contract with the supply company.
Putting that aside, the times I have stayed here the hotel is clean, and the food is Ok. Bit of a walk into town, but nothing too troublesome.

Thank you for your comments.
Due to circumstances beyond our control the Merton Aquadome Flowrider® will not be in service for some time. The Flowrider® has developed a serious mechanical fault and will be out of action for the duration of the summer. Because of the complex nature of the machinery another pump will not be delivered to the island and installed before October. We have a very good relationship with our supplier but the lead time for a new specialist pump is 12 weeks.
We appreciate that this may be a disappointment to you and many of our guests however we have been working behind the scenes to come up with some fantastic alternative activities. Our friends at the Splash Surf Centre and Absolute Adventures have kindly offered some excellent discounts for all Merton Hotel residents throughout the summer. We have written to all our customers advising them of this and have publicised the discounted activities on our website.

This is our third time staying at the Merton as a family. My wife and I and our two daughters, now aged 11 and 14.

This Merton is a great family hotel for families of all ages. The family rooms/suites are spacious and well thought out. Ours comprised of an entrance hall, two separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The kids room had two single beds. Both rooms had flat screen tvs. The adult room also had a fridge, which is handy for keeping water, etc. There is plenty of storage in each room and also in the entrance hall. The rooms, and indeed the entire hotel, are very clean.

We opted for the half board option which is great for convenience. Food is served buffet style with a vast range of dishes. Quality and quantity of food was fantastic, catering for all tastes. Service in the restaurant is excellent.

The one unique for the Merton a s a true family hotel is the nightly entertainment program, again suiting all age ranges. The entertainments Manager, Lee?, has really made a significant difference and his enthusiasm and energy appears limitless. The acts that he has booked, certainly during our stay, were top class.

The pool, gym and water park complex attached to the Merton is also excellent and really added to our break there.

The location is only a pleasant five minute walk into St. Helier town centre and a 15 minute drive from the airport.

I would have no hesitation I recommending the Merton for a family holiday in Jersey.

We booked last minute and got a good deal. Check in took over half an hour, and the hotel wasn't even very busy, so I'm sure this could be a problem in summer. Hotel is big and has lots of restaurants and seating areas. We found it really hard finding our room as there are so many staircases and corridors going off, but once found, it was fine. Bedroom was clean and spacious.

Breakfast was good, lots of choice. We ate early, but I think it could get really busy later. Free use of the pool is great, it has an inside and outside pool area. We really enjoyed it. W
