We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Merton, we stayed in the Dodo suites. The room was stunning, extremely clean with high quality fixtures and fittings. The quality of the food really surprised us, for a buffet style restaurant, it was exceptional quality, all seasoned to perfection. Breakfast was also delicious. We have all returned about half a stone heavier! The facilities are all great, we used the gym and the pool, the children loved the pool especially the rapids and the slide. We spent every night in the Star Room, the children's kids zone live is brilliant for kids, the energy and enthusiasm of the staff really shows. The Chocco Latte being the highlight of the night! Each night there was different act, never failing to entertain, from wresting to magic and illusion to tribute singers. It was great because we didn't need to leave the hotel, having two young children this was ideal. During the day we visited Jerseys many beaches and attractions but the hotel made the holiday extra special and we are booking again for next year if we can get a room! its very popular and books up quick.

Room Tip: Book a suite if you can, definitely worth the extra, makes the holiday feel 5*

We have stopped at this hotel on a number of occasions. It is the perfect hotel for families and we would not stay anywhere else on the Island.
The aqua dome is truly fantastic. The entertainment is great.
The restaurants within the hotel are good value and serve great varied food

Room Tip: Go for a garden room for a quieter stay

Stayed in this hotel with my hubby and daughters (9yrs & 6yrs) room lovely and clean, twin beds and bunk bed for kids. The room was a bit hot -being on the 5th floor, but the weather was fab so can't really complain. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, seated promptly and friendly staff, gets busy after 8.30, but they do warn you! Ate in Jersey Joes great food and staff, not much room to sit in there though. Ate in Bonettis, food was brilliant recommend the pasta with chicken, mushroom and jersey cream - delicious, pizzas were good too.
Aquadome was the main attraction for my daughters and we used this facility everyday, I was surprised the pool was not busier - it being the main school holidays- be warned the flow rider is still out of action!!! The changing facilities are small and often people were sat or changing in front of the locker we were using, however there are lockers at the pool side and we used these instead.
Staff throughout the hotel were brilliant, especially the lovely ladies ( and gent) in the kids club.
Overall brilliant friendly family hotel, well done the Merton :)

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. When we checked in I was extremely surprised to receive a map for the hotel - but on examining it and the hotel, was very gratefully. I have stayed in lots of hotels but this is the most confusing ever. However this did not spoil our visit. The room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. The restaurant was huge and meals were all buffet style. Dinner choice was amazing and if you couldn't find something to your taste then you must be extra fussy. Hot dishes changed each night and a roast, fish, casseroles, large variety of salads etc. Breakfast was also excellent on the same basis and to my delight plenty fresh fruit salad etc. The hotel location is only a couple of minutes walk from the Howard Davies Park (super park with beautiful Rose Garden). Slightly further on you are at the shops. Definately recommend oit

Welcoming reception from all staff on our arrival, all questions, requests answered efficiently.
Our room was on 6th floor which had an amazing view over the harbour. The room and hotel was clean and tidy throughout. There was entertainment to suit most taste, but we especially enjoyed listening to the pianist. The breakfasts were well organised and the service we received as excellent. The location of the hotel - 10 minute walk into st helier - I have nothing negative to say. The pool was clean and the water warm.

Room Tip: our room on 6th floor was quiet with lovely view (615)

Just back from a five night stay at the Merton. Hotel very nice, suitable for all ages and very popular with families. The extra facilities set this hotel apart from many other hotels with a cabaret/entertainent bar, children's entertainment, aqua park style pools, gym etc etc. Food was good and staff pleasant and helpful. Only criticism was that the entertainment bar was advertised externally and was almost always too full to enjoy the excellent acts that were on in the evening.

lovely hotel, ideal for families both young and old. Couldn't fault the staff and the place was clean and tidy throughout. We were bed and breakfast only and the breakfast menu changed slightly daily which was nice, all the food was of a good standard. Advise getting down before 8am as if you leave it till 9 ish then a queue forms, but not a massive queue. The american diner restaurant inside the hotel was a bit on the slow side for fast food when we visited it, but the Italian restaurant was great with nice food and excellent service. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the city centre which has numerous bars and restaurants etc.
Enjoyable stay, thanks all at the merton

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are much of a muchness, clean, quiet etc. If you are disabled or have young ch...
