“Disappointed”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

For £13 I expect freshly cooked seafood linguine, not reheated (although denied by staff) and seafood to be palatable, not indistinguishable nuggets of rubber. New potatoes and vegetables with the mackerel need to be cooked and seasoned, and drained before putting on the plate. Roast cherry tomatoes on the vine, firstly need to be roasted and seasoned. Pinot Grigio, I wouldn't use it for cooking. Be prepared, if you complain or send food back, you are on the staff ,miss list'. Take cash, because 10 min waiting to pay by card at the counter is irritating. A wholly unexpected disappointing dining experience. Also, be prepared for flies in the dining room.

“My favourite place to eat in Guernsey!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

I love this place. The ambiance, the menu, the service - all first class. Little wonder it holds the award of being the best pub to dine in, in the Channel Islands.

The Calamari starter was very nice but it felt like something mass produced from the freezer rather than being home made in a top kitchen. Nicely cooked and presented but not a patch on the same dish i enjoyed elsewhere the previous day!

I enjoyed a great piece of Sirloin steak - but it was a tad over-cooked. The peppercorn sauce was very good - but a tad salty. The fries were excellent.

I do like this place and will certainly return again.

“Friendly welcome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

We ate here twice whilst staying at Les Jardin des Fleurs self catering cottages next door. We recieved a very friendly welcome on both occasions. First time, I had the belly pork which was perfect. The only reason I do not give this a top rating is because I never see a reason for not serving "proper" chips. Stringy, thin, reconstituted potato chip shapes (as served in McDonald's) are not chips.
