Have just returned from a week at Cobo Bay Hotel and what a fantastic place to stay. Rooms, food, staff just perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and our room was so comfortable, clean and quiet even though at the front with a balcony, sea views and the stunning sunsets. The lounge bar on an evening was very sociable but if you want quiet corners they are there too and you can make use of the library or games that are available for guests. Meals or drinks at the beach terrace were also excellent and again staff fantastic. Cobo Bay Hotel is well situated for touring or walking and a car not essential as bus service good but if you want exercise without leaving the building there is a lovely small gym, good hot tub, sauna and steam shower to take advantage of.
Will definately return as such a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Try and book a front sea view room with balcony - fantastic even when the sea is rough.

Just back from the lovely Cobo Bay Hotel on the west coast of Guernsey across the (busyish) road from the beach.
The hotel is roughly 15-20 mins drive from the Airport & the main town of St Peter Port where the ferries come in. The numbers 3 & 7 buses serve Cobo Bay but don't get caught like we did as they don't run from St Peter Port on a Sunday night so we walked 10-15 minutes from Grandes Roques. An easy walk but very dark!
The hotel restaurant serves a cooked to order breakfast & an excellent 2 or 3 course dinner for £22.50 or £27.50. The food itself is first class especially the seafood & the service is excellent without being over-stuffy, the staff in fact couldn't be more friendly everywhere including on reception. There are tables out of the front of the hotel on a nice day to eat & drink. All of these areas have a good view.
The bar is at the back but more of a lounge so quite quiet. The owners do own the pub next door if you want more noise! Although the pub drink prices are a little expensive.
Being that our room was on the side of the pub & above a kitchen outlet we had to keep our windows closed at night as noise would keep us awake, which was the one downside as the room & bathroom were neat & clean.
I wouldn't recommend the Cobo Bay if you want a thrilling nightlife, otherwise I think you will enjoy it.

Dining outside on the deck or in the seating area or in the dining room the food is outstanding - especially the very fresh sea food. -presented and cooked to a high standard - and good value. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Very clean and well apointed rooms and a lovely, quiet beach just across the road. I will be returning here .I recommend the rooms with a sea view as the sunsets can be just great. - and to wake up to a blue sea is just great. - Sat night can be a little lively with a busy pub next door.

Room Tip: i would pay the extra for the sea view rooms - with the balcony

The hotel stands very close to the sea and the coast road. The beach has nice sand, but there is little shelter from the prevailing westerlies. Dining is expensive in the Channel Islands, but this hotel really does provide excellent food for an average price. Our room had everything you could think of and more - wired and wifi Internet, slippers and bathing robe, bath and separate shower, tv, four poster bed, the list is endless.

3 star Hotel with 4 star service and food.
Room was not the best room we could have booked but it was excellent, clean well appointed, roomy with fresh fruit and bottled water on arrival, and fresh bottled water and coffee etc. everyday. The restaurant over looks the bay with fantastic sunsets. The food was 4 star quality and the breakfast was fantastic everything you could possibly want and more.
Staff very friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble. I would reccomend to friends and family without hesitation. The only down side is the road between the beach and the hotel, well you can't have everything with 3 star prices! but this didn't spoil the fantastic view. You could slao eat outside in the bistro overlooking the bay.
Will go again if we go the Guernsey.
