This hotel is a definite must when staying in Guernsey. The bedrooms are all modern with ensuite facilities and tea/coffee making in the room. There is a good restaurant/bar and a modern leisure suite. The owner 'cossie' and his staff are always welcoming, friedly and helpful. Car rental is suggested but the hotel is just a across from a bus stop.

A definite thumbs up!

We have just returned from a long weekend staying at this hotel and felt very strongly that we would like to write a review. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and our cases were carried up to our room by the very friendly chap on reception (sorry, we don't know his name). Our room was 204 overlooking the front of the hotel and was extremely large indeed. The room was spotless, and warm (on probably what was one of the coldest weekends!) with everything you could possibly need for comfort. Our friends were in 215 and although not as spacious as ours, they were equally satisfied. The swimming pool, jacuzzi's and changing rooms were probably the cleanest we've ever come across. We mostly had the pool all to ourselves (with our friends) ... the jacuzzi's were just like stepping into a hot bath ...... lovely! We did not use the gym but our friend did and he said that this was extremely well equipped.

The breakfasts were good and we ate in the hotel every evening as the menu had good and varied choices. All the staff we came across were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

For a three star hotel, this we would suggest is second to none and we would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone. A very pleasant stay ... thanks to all!

All the staff are great but the owner 'cozy' such a grumpy man also bully's his staff. Waitraces absolutely brilliant! Also nick the bar man. They were wonderful to me and my husband especially lotty and nick. We really enjoyed our stay, except the disappointment of the owner.

Everything wonderful but the owners.

What a welcome!
Checked in early morning in a smelly loby, after filling in the form, the receptionist, reminded us that it is forbidden to smoke in the rooms. He told us if it has to happen we will be fined 3000 pounds and he will throw us out. He asked us individually if we were ok, and i said no, just for testing. He looked at me and answered, only uneducated people or ederly people are smoking. I could not believe his behaviour so we moved to a friendly downtown hotel. We thought the receptionist was very rude and did not deserve our business.

Stayed in the villette in July, as always a friendly welcome. Great food, fantastic facilities for a family. Staff very helpful. Especially nick the barman and of course Carl who runs everything so efficiently.
The owners of the hotel cossie and Marion are great and always makes us feel so welcome.
Thanks again for a lovely stay, hope to see you soon x

booked this hotel as part of a package through flyguernsey, friendly receptionist, from the north of england, she actually took us to our room( not many do ). The room was spacious, well equiped, warm( this was october) and clean.Excellent ensuite, plenty of towels, soaps etc.. Tea ,coffee and hot chocolate with a selection of biscuits. Drinks in the bar area a bit pricey, evening meal fairly good, the breakfast was excellent.

Arrived at la Villette to a friendly welcome from the receptionist and although early, the room was ready. The room was clean and a good size, . We were given the disabled room, [although able bodied], so the wash basin was at waist height, but to compensate the shower was large and roomy. Spa, clean and welcoming.
We ate in the restaurant the first evening. The staff were very pleasant, but poorly trained and slow. My scallops in white wine and cream sauce came smothered in cheese sauce! When I complained the chef was adamant that it was a wine sauce, and that was that. The head waitress offered us another choice, which I accepted gratefully. Breakfast excellent, but very slow, tricky if one is going to take the hourly bus in to St Peter Port. [it stops right outside the hotel]. Meal next evening? Tomato, avocado and mozerella starter came without avocado. A plate came with a miniscule portion, oh dear careless chef. Overall, a good hotel let down by the chef.
