The Missus and I stayed at La Villette for the week before Easter - and we loved every minute of it.
We found the premises to be very clean and well cared for. The exterior is as inviting as the interior is - in a certain "old school British" manner - cozy. Unfortunately the walls between rooms seem to be somewhat thinner than we build houses today but this didn't affect us much since there was only one room with a common wall and our neighbours were rather quiet.
Room size is adequate, especially if one considers that the Resident's Lounge and the in-house-Spa areas offer ample possibilities in case one gets trapped by bad weather.
Top notes to the hotel staff (especially to June!) as well as to the restaurant and bar employees. And to the reception staff and management, too - in contrast to some (older) reviews we found them all very forthcoming, helpful and with a healthy sense of humour. No trace of bullying whatsoever...
Breakfast was a treat every morning, freshly cooked and rather tasty, served with speed and a ready smile from everybody.
The same goes for dinner; definitely none of the meals we had came from the microwave but were all freshly cooked. Here again the staff proved to be very capable, friendly and competent.

The quality of this hotel's table did not only convince our European palates but the fact that quite some local people came to dine tells me that this hotel is on the right way.
We certainly look forward to our next stay there!More
