We were doing a lap of the island on a #91 (clockwise, the #92 goes anticlockwise) bus and stopped off at Sausmarez manor in time for the 10:30 house tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable and clearly loved her association with the family. The family history is fascinating as are the artefacts in the house.

We stayed in the Dower flat, early June this year, the flat is large and comfortable, although maybe a little tired, welcome pack was well thought out and gave a great start to our break, Peter De Saumarez, the Lord of the Manor and Rosina were most welcoming and made us feel that nothing was to much trouble.
Access to the gardens, house tour and use of the 9 hole on site golf and clubs was all included.
Value for money and totally unique.

We got up early to go to farmers market, but it was quite small. Homemade food was good. Art park was enjoyable, very peaceful sculptures can be purchased (expensive!).

Decided on a visit as we had read about the grounds. Unfortunately they were rather uninteresting and had it not been for the sculpture trail we would not have stayed very long. Some of the items were excellent and worth seeing. We did not do the actual trail as quite pricey and sceptical if it was worth the cost. We visited the cafe for coffee/tea, I was delighted to get the opportunity to try Gache cake - I'd read about - enjoyed. We opted not to visit the house as our time was limited. There is also a shop with quite an extensive stock.

We had several hours to kill before our ferry left so we visited this park. Enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the gardens which at the time of our visit contained a large number of sculptures (available for sale). These catered for all tastes. There is an extensive walking path, several interesting plants, trees, pond with associated wildlife etc. The park also contains a small railway for children to ride upon, accompanied by an adult. It was a hot ,sunny day when we visited and it was an enjoyable stroll, complemented by a good pot of tea and delicious cake at the end in the cafe in the courtyard. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Not the most stimulating of attractions on the island but interesting enough especially for families with children.
