Description: The Captains is best described as an Inn with rooms, all 9 en suite bedrooms have been recently re-carpeted and are equipped with tv, tea and coffee facilities and complimentary toiletries. The bar attracts locals and visitors alike and you are guaranteed lively banter around the bar area. Whilst the bistro and bar area serves traditional bar meals, the Captains has gained a reputation in recent years for their Seafood dishes and the freshest of local fish. Reservations are not always necessary but to avoid disappointment it is suggested at the weekends and the busy summer months.

Five of us had dinner at this busy restaurant - inside, after we rejected the offer of a table in the carpark - and the food was excellent. Portions were very large, and we could not finish everything. Service was casual but very efficient, fast and friendly.

Best orders were the pizza and ribeye steaks.

Very good for a pub meal with family. Lots of local gossip in the pub - friendly atmosphere.

The ideal spot for a weeks R&R. Hosts Ali and Del were friendly, welcoming and unobtrusive.Room was clean, airy and a very comfy bed.
The only downside with room was the temperature control on the shower was the opposite of the colours shown and the cold water took a long time to run cold and tasted somewhat musty.
Breakfast was very pleasant and well cooked although the sausages were not very good, I have a feeling they were frozen because they had the texture of toothpaste and tasted really cheap. This is a minor complaint and in no way detracts from my overall stay experience.
A rate of £42.50 per night B&B with no single supplement, is in my opinion, unbeatable.
Food in the bistro was excellent with the Lobster, Crab and Prawns au Gratin a particular standout and at £14.50, didn't break the bank.
Thank you The Captain's, I'll be back

During our stay here, we found both the staff and locals extremely friendly. We felt like 'Old Friends' with everyone after just one night and having people asking where we had been and suggesting other places worth visiting on a daily basis was fantastic.
Food at the Captains was second to none. We ate here a number of times and had everything from Ham and Chips to Lobster Thermidor and the standard was always excellent. Daily specials are also available which include locally caught produce.
Our room was spacious and the decor was modern and fresh with en-suite facilities. My partner even said it was the best nights sleep she had had outside of home.
The hosts, Ali & Del, were the difference between a good holiday and a great holiday. They offered plenty of local advice and always ensured our stay was going to be something special.

There is a group of us that every coupe of months go out for a meal . Each couple gets to choose in turn where we go , it is now the second time we have been to the captains and I have to say the food was great again . Personnaly as a none fish eater I do find the menu a little limiting but opted for the rib eye steak and Stilton . Excellent steak , plenty of chips and salad to fill the plate . All the other members of the part all enjoyed their meals of scampi , sea bass , duck and agreed that it was a great meal . The restaurant was very busy but that did not delay the service in any way . It is a bit out of the way but I would recommend this to any one .

Desperate and Hungary, we were not having a lot of luck on a Sunday afternoon, trying to find somewhere to have Dinner. After making a few enquiries, the advice was to go to the Captains, which did not appear on any Tourist map but was found down some very narrow and windy lanes in the area of St. Martins.

We arrived to find most of the locals sitting outside in the sunshine and was greeted in a friendly and welcoming way. Inside was quite empty (it was now 15:30 and food stopped at 16:00) but they were happy to serve us with wonderful Sunday Roasts that were massive in size and taste. A great Menu was available for all sorts of food and the deserts sounded delicious (if you had room for it).

Great food, reasonable choice of drinks and fantastic service. Worth coming to Guernsey for.
