This hotel was recommended to me by my friends and I must say they did not disappoint! We took up three rooms in total which were all very different and unique in their own ways. I had a huge four post bed which made our friends very jealous. In the evening one of our parties had special dietary requirements which had been handled very respectfully and professionally, we would like to thank Bella Luce for a great time!

Compared to other 5star hotels on the island, I must say this hotel represents real value for money. Location in St Martins is undeniably the most exclusive part of the island. We took the Rib boat excursion to an island called Sark and it was a wonderful experience..not for the faint hearted! The food was very tasty, staff where exceptional all greeting us with warm smiles, all in all it was a great boutique hotel experience.'

We booked a premier room, but it was very disappointing. Very noisy, small and overlooking the car park. The garden is small and the pool was not available even though it was one of the hottest weeks of the year. There is better value elsewhere - we would definitely not stay here again.

Room Tip: Avoid room 102 or any room overlooking the car park - likely to be noisy

Having recently returned to the Bella Luce I am delighted that the experience is still as enjoyable as ever. While there has been some change in personnel there has been no change in the welcome, attention, friendliness and courtesy shown by all staff...housekeeping, reception, restaurant and bar.
The Bella Luce manages to combine the comforts and quality service required, whether on business or pleasure, with the ability to maintain the high standards of a boutique luxury hotel.

Room Tip: Go for the high end rooms, excellent value.

Four weeks ago I contacted the Hotel as I planned a Birthday surprise for my partner. From day one on I got all the help via phone and email, very good advise, and I got the feeling of good teamwork. Yesterday than was the big day, my partner knew that something is going on but had no idea what. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The cake lady communicated with the restaurant manager. The surprise was indeed a surprise thanks to the bar staff. All guests were seated in the Lucifer room, and it was a fantastic moment when we walked in. Our Dinner was served in a separate very nice room, the service was excellent, so was the menue. Fillet steaks were done as requested, very nice Dinner. My partner got special treatment, a glass of Champaigne at the Bar , and the Dessert was presented on a nicely chocolate decorated plate. All together it was an excellent evening, thanks to the team work and friendly staff. We were well looked after. My partner and I stayed for the night in a luxurious room. After a good night sleep we had a very nice breakfast - again served by very friendly staff. We can highly recommend this Hotel, we were very well looked after without feeling overwelmed.

We went to this hotel on the recommendation of friends who had been guests previously.
Recently refurbished the hotel looked smart and was clean, warm and generally comfortable. First impressions were not favourable as the gardens were not at all well cared for and looked untidy and overgrown with a sad looking outdoor pool in winter dress. This was unexpected in a hotel of this category. The garden furniture was old, tatty and generally in a poor state of repair and, had the weather been better would have been unwelcoming and a real danger to sit on if one didn't want snagged clothing (we did try!!).
The welcome at reception was ok but nothing special for such a highly starred establishment and this was generally reflected in the service throughout which was amateurish, inattentive and more suited to Fawlty Towers. It felt as if the maitre d' was out of his depth and incapable of providing a good customer experience-not only that he was arrogant and scruffy. I see this aspect has been commented on before and it really does need to be sorted out if the hotel is not to be downgraded. Check out was a real trial and the bill needed a lot of attention.
Our room was well furbished and comfortable but the bathroom, although superficially stylish, had a very tatty shower curtain rather that a glass cubicle and the design around the toilet was clearly an afterthought as the toilet roll holder was almost impossible to use! Plastic milk was a real let down and the view of the flat roofs was overwhelming!
The food was good and the breakfast, when we managed to get served, was excellent.
Overall a disappointing experience - the service and standards need to be sharpened up if the hotel wants to maintain its star rating and remain the haunt of the Guernsey elite.

Room Tip: 203 was a lovely room internally but the roof view was not inspiring.
