This hotel ticks all the boxes - fantastic food, beautiful bedrooms and glorious gardens.
The Bella Luce has had a fortune spent on it over the last two years and is now surely one of the best hotels in the Channel Islands.
The main part of the hotel has been totally refurbished inside, creating some amazing bedrooms and two excellent restaurants which are cozy and comfortable. Outside, the olde worlde charm of the traditional Bella Luce Hotel has been retained and the gardens are beautiful.
I stayed for 18 nights and am already looking forward to returning.
Even if you are only booking for a few days, take a tip and make sure you "dine in" as much as possible. You are sure of a very warm welcome from restaurant manager Andre and his staff and I can guarantee that even the fussiest of diners will be impressed by the menus and wine list on offer.
The reception staff were also brilliant, under the direction of Kath and Irene and I found that nothing was too much trouble - everyone went out of their way to make the stay memorable and for all the right reasons!
I am told that the "older rooms" which have yet to be refurbished are to be tackled during the winter months, so expect some exciting developments by next spring.
The Bella Luce offers superbly appointed bedrooms - try to get one with a view over the gardens if you can - and a level of comfort and luxury to suit all tastes. Look out for some unusual touches in the decor and design (guaranteed to be a talking point) and cover your ears if you're near Smokey the parrot!

This is the second year running we have used the Bella Luce and as we travel to Guernsey on a regular basis we will most definatly stay again. We were upgraded to a delux room which was superb, the year before we had a standard room which was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food top notch in fact we could find no fault at all with anything.

We weren't too sure what to expect from this rececently refurbished hotel , but we certainly were not disappointed. We were given a complimentary upgrade to luxury and superior rooms, although I would have to say that the superior room was small and basic, with no view. We were blessed with good weather which enabled us to take advantage of their gardens, but would comment that had the weather been inclement then there was a shortage of public seating inside. The bar area is small and could do with expansion - by the way what is this Lucifers as we saw no sign of it. What sells this place is the food - it really is superb and not expensive. We ate out at some of the islands best restaurants during our stay, and none were better than here. One small gripe - if you want a sandwich at 3pm you cant get one unless through room service. Why couldn't we have a snack on the terrace other than cake ? We would return and liked the relaxing atmosphere, but I do agree with a previous review that their web site info needs to be more accurate eg the rooms do NOT have DVD players. Guernsey itself is quite different from say Jersey - it is noticably more crowded and built up but St peters port is well worth exploring, while day trips to Herm and Sark are a must. A relaxing break was had by all.
