leisure ammenities were brilliant and we had great time weather was googd just a shame it coudnt be said about the restuarant staff .very miserable and the head waiter needed a lesson in courtesy he seemed to forget guests were paying his wages . we asked several times if we could sit near doors and was told the were reserveved as the were so popular . yet each night no one came in to claim them . it took forever to get our evening meal yet our breakfast was really rushed as though they couldnt wait to get rid if us but when it did arrive it was well worth waitng for over all the hotel was lovely great location

For a comfortable hotel with good basic facilities, this is fine.

Negatives are only lack of fridge in room, poor ventilation (you can get a fan) and somewhat institutional feel. It is however friendly, comfortable and we got good service.

The pool and fitness centre area are a great bonus, but not luxurious in feel. For the price - acceptable.

It is under the flight path and the 6.00 mail plane may wake you. but the same can be said of most hotels in the south east of the island.

We stayed here when our flight home from Guernsey was grounded by the volcanic ash. The accommodation desk at the airport came to our rescue with this hotel which we got at a significant discount because several guests cancelled because their flights to Guernsey were also cancelled.

The hotel is a couple of miles from the airport on the No.7 bus route - an essential requirement for us as the hire car had just been returned to Avis at the airport.

We were able to check in at 11am and go straight to our room. The decor in the room and throughout the hotel was very modern and looked like it had recently been decorated.

The pool and fitness suite was quiet when we used it at 6pm and was free to use, with complimentary towels and dressing gowns.

Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was very tasty with a choice of english and continental breakfast.

This unplanned stay was a very pleasant surprise and we would certainly consider choosing this hotel to stay next time we visit Guernsey.

La Trelade is a very pleasant Hotel. The indoor Pool and Spa facilities are lovely.
La Trelade is cozy, chintzy, and definitely has a foot in the 1970s.

The service was ok. We ate Breakfast at the Hotel and spent the rest of our time out and about; returning only for a dip in the pool and a short session in the steam room before changing for Dinner and heading out again.

Breakfast on our last day was a hectic affair; the staff seemed to be having problems. Some guests arrived, ordered a cooked Breakfast and were served a cooked Breakfast almost immediately. Others, like us, ordered a cooked Breakfast and waited for a very long time for it; longer than those who arrived after us.

A small gripe; it did not spoil our stay in the slightest.

Would we choose to stay there again? For the spa alone, yes.

We stayed at La Trelade for 3 nights as a weekend break. Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Every member of staff was friendly and helpfull. Food is fresh and well presented, The gym and swimming pool is better than some paid gym membership clubs. Everything is potlessly clean and quite simply can't wait to go back again. I would certainly recomend this hotel to anyone wanting a good value stress free holiday.

Very pleasant stay at La Trelade, which is more (if you know Guernsey) in Forest than St Martins, where we spent 3 nights and 4 days.

Down sides:

Unpleasant drone (air conditioning?) all through the day until about 01.15hrs (don’t know when it started again, however, when I woke at 07.30hrs it was there).

Garden of the hotel is all virtually all to the front.

It may bug some, it is just off the flight path to Guernsey Airport – to be honest it didn’t bother us and in fact it was a novelty watching the aircraft.

Bit of a trek if you want to walk back at night from St Peter Port (not too far in miles, however after a large meal…)

Upsides:

We dropped our luggage off at the hotel at about 10.00hrs and went off for the day – got back around 20.00hrs and checked in – day we left we checked out at 09.00hrs and pick up the bags about 17.00hrs to go to the airport.

Hotel is on a bus route to and from the airport and also for town. If, like us, you like waking then Fermain Bay is simple to get to as is Jerbourg and any other coastal area of St Martins

Complained about the noise (see drone above) and got moved to a better larger room that was slightly quieter (huge 4 poster bed as well).

Staff very helpful throughout our stay from the front of house, through to the bar and to the restaurant.

Food top notch - breakfast served fresh, plenty of choice, evening meal was more 4*.

Pool very pleasant and sun stream in (sauna and steam room also good – just in an odd place to our mind in that they are with the communal showers)

Overall:

Very pleasant stay, great staff and great food. Décor is defiantly 3* however, the evening meal was fantastic – we were very pleasantly surprised. Would we stay there again – simply yes.

Finally, we suggest if you go to Guernsey you book through Island Getaways Ltd – the 3 nights B&B for 2 at the La Trelade including flights was £467 – a great deal. We have used this company 3 times for Guernsey deals and they seem to offer the best service from all the companies we have viewed.

We travel to Guernsey on a regular basis and as we had Grandchildren with us this year we decided to change our regular hotel for the La Trelade as it had an indoor pool so if we had bad weather there would be something for them to do. I must say we were very impressed. Hotel was very clean and tidy, staff very polite and friendly, food was well presented and nicely cooked. Bedrooms we had were well appointed with nice comfortable beds, bathrooms clean . Pool, gym etc again were clean tidy and well run. Only drawback is aircraft noise this is something you tend to get in that part of Guernsey but as there is no night flying, seem to finish about 10 pm start again 7-730 am we suffered no sleepless nights. We would certainly use the hotel again in the future.
