We chose the Hotel Jerbourg for it's ideal location and great sea views which was a priority for us. Apon our arrival we found that the agents we had booked through (although taking our money and sending us written conformation) had not booked us into the hotel and to cap it all the hotel was fully booked. The Jerbourg management Paula and Paul were amazing - they offered to find us another hotel, which we didn't want. After going to a lot of trouble they managed to put us in several different rooms until we ended up in the room we had originally requested with the amazing sea view. This did however give us a chance to sample several of the rooms and all were of a very high standard. The cleanliness, decor and furnishings in the hotel were exemplary throughout and the food excellent. All of the staff even excelled the standard of the hotel. They were all so helpful and friendly. The management couldn't have put themselves out more to help us, not only with the booking problem but with every other aspect. Even although you get a friendly family feeling from the hotel it is run and the staff behave in a very professional manner. The location is ideal being not far from St Peters Port with a good bus service right up to the hotel door and there are some wonderful cliff top walks around the hotel. However, if you have a car the hotel has ample safe private parking.

If you want a relaxing holiday in stunning surroundings with a friendly atmosphere there is only one hotel on the island for us, this is the Hotel Jerboug!

I have dietry problems but the staff were very friendly and so helpful, especially the head chief, who is a director of the hotel, who went out of his way to pander to my needs.
Whilst food is very much a matter of tastes and what you are used to, the food for my wife and I was always interesting and well presented. We enjoyed the evening meals and the selections available. The only minor issue was constantly having the same bowl of vegetable choice presented each night, but overall very good.
As previously said the staff were very helpful and welcoming, with nothing too much trouble.
The location of the hotel is stunning right on the cliff egde with some marvellous views on a clear day. The fog came down one night during our stay, we found it quite envigorating, especially when the sea fog horn sounded below on Jerbourg Point.
The swimming pool is not heated - only by the sun - and proved a little cold, and was not cleaned sufficiently every day, but when the sun shines strong is a lovely area to relax.
All in all my wife and I had an excellent first holiday on Guernsey, based at the Jerbourg Hotel and had a very good 8 days, and look forward to returning again one day.

Which spoilt the trip somewhat for us. we had the afore-mentioned room 17, like an attic room with a pretty hard bed. On the upside, there is plenty of storage, wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom also could do with some attention, there is black mould around the bath. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't be faulted though. The hotels location is perfect, and I agree with another visitor who said the location deserves a first class hotel to compliment it.

The only meals we ate at the hotel was breakfast, so I can't comment on the evening meals.

If you decide to try this hotel, ask for a lower floor room, which appear (from other's reviews) to be larger. Be warned, there are no lifts.

The smart and beaming receptionist greeted me by name and I just knew this would be a great stay. It is all in the quality and detail at hotel Jerbourg from immaculate cleanliness to quality toiletries, fantastic service from professionally dressed staff and comfortable bedding. These folks know how to run a hotel. A perfect setting with some of the best views in Europe.

Located about 3 miles from the port, the hotel is at the end of the road......
It has good views and is ideal for walking or touring around the island.
We had a ground floor room, which was modern, spacious, clean and a good bathroom.
It had been decorated recently. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was par excellent - the choice, presentation and quality was realy good. Prices were comparable with other eating places on the Island. The restaurant staff were also very accomodating and very efficient.
4 or 5 days on the Island is probably long enough, unless you have some special hobby or activity in mind. Driving on the narrow roads can be a bit 'frantic' at times and I would not like it during 'peak' season. There is a good bus service throught the whole Island and from right outside the 'Jerbourg'
A very enjoyable stay.

The Hotel Jerbourg is just a 15min drive from the Airport, but can also be reached by local bus, It sits on the cliff at Jerbourg Point in St Martins with stunning views also cliff top walks, we hired a car for our 4night stay in March and i would say that a car would make your stay unless you love walking about, the town of St Peter Port is just a 5min drive away where there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants.
The Hotel is a good 3star hotel but the reception is not 24hr so dont forget to take your key on your travels, we had a small but clean room No17 on our arrival but had a problem with the shower and were given an upgrade to room No7 this was a large and very nice room, As there were only about 15 guests we got to know the Restaurant Manageress that made us more than welcome, we were on B/B and had an evening bar meal, you could have a three corurse meal for £25, we had that on our last night it was very filling, all in all we had a great stay and would tell anyone to make a visit, the hotel has plenty of parking, the only down side i can find is the resident ducks that have taken over the swimming pool their mess was all over the pool, hopefully they will have it all cleaned for the sommer season..

We recently had our wedding at the Hotel Jerbourg and a large number of our guests from America, Ireland, Scotland, and England stayed at the hotel. It was entirely perfect. Gorgeous views, and a wonderful introduction to the best of Guernsey cuisine with the most delicious lobsters, oysters, gache melee; a real feast. Indeed, many friends noted that it would be remembered as one of the best meals of their lives. The rooms were first class for comfort and cleanliness and not one of our guests had a complaint about the hotel. We would not hesitate in recommending the Jerbourg either as somewhere to stay for a holiday or for a family celebration. With short cliff walks or leafy lanes to lead you down to quiet bays, Saumarez Manor, Victor Hugo's House, and St. Peter Port, not to mention some great local pubs nearby, it made for a memorable occasion, not just for us, but for our loved ones too. Thank you, Hotel Jerbourg.
