We stayed at La Barbarie for five nights, staying in one of their self catering units. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Guernsey.....relatively close to all activities, museums, etc. The staff are superior and of great help. The restaurant is superb with wonderful service and food.....especially fresh sea food. We would stay here again without any thought. The self catering unit was well supplied and had excellent wi-fi. If you come to Guensey, you need to stay here!

Room Tip: Our self catering unit was 111 and perfect for a couple. Only problem is that water pressure was ho...

The restaurant is our favourite on the island and although we have tried a few others we always return to La Barbarie. This time we thought would try the hotel as well as we were tempted by the special offer of half board, car hire and a bottle of fizz. We flew into the island in a light aircraft and had booked for two nights. However, the weather forecast was terrible for the day we were leaving so we had to cutail our stay to one night only as we wouldn't have been able to fly out otherwise. Andy was so understanding and there was absolutely no quibble at all in cancelling one night's stay. I must say I was very impressed and it all added up to a memorable stay. The service here is always immaculate and I am even more in awe now. The room was in the main hotel and was lovely. Lovely big room and bed and flat screen TV. Lovely toiletries as well. Breakfast was really good, as was the evening meal but then we expect nothing less having eaten here many times. Well done, La Barbarie, you are beginning to feel like a second home!!!

We ate at most of the St Martins restaurants inc Auberge and Bella Luce. This is the one on our week long stay that merited a revisit. Compared to the others it was far more comfortable and had a busy bustle throughout. Bella Luce is upmarket, quiet refined; Auberge was by comparison Nouveau. Barbarie staff are so precise and the kitchen is faultless in its precision delivery. A sole quibble would be that along with other diners nearby, this speedy delivery left us needing a break. Our gorgeous waitress enquired " break with menu or without?" If you can only manage one of St Martins excellent eateries I would make it this one.

We opted to dine at this hotel as visitors one evening of our stay on the Island. Whilst the resturant has a tradtional family feeling the food and service are excellent. Reasonably priced, and locally sourced produce. Would recommend.

Second visit to this great hotel, and it was every bit as good as the first time. Once again stayed in one of their premier rooms, which was very clean and comfortable. Chose half board (again) because the food is varied and fantastic; breakfasts that keep you going all day, and evening meals that offer excellent local sea-food. Everything is run at your pace, so evening meals are unhurried and give you time to reflect on the day with a great choice of wines. All the hotel staff are friendly and attentive and happy to chat if that's what you want. On a personal note, I was really pleased to see they now stock the local Guernsey beer!

Spent 24th-28th May at La Barbarie. Would recommend to all. Great base for walking- easy access to buses which stopped outside the hotel from where you can get to any place on this beautiful small island. Food was wonderful- breakfasts huge & plentiful. We had opted for half board so ate in every evening- top class. One evening we tried the seafood platter - which did come as an extra but was superb- lobster, crab, the best prawns we had ever tasted- & we have tasted lots... shrimps, clams.. Also good choice of wines. God service.

Have just returned from La Barbarie weekend of 18-21 May. Hotel room spotless, complimentary bathroom items. Excellent choice of breakfast - continental and full English. Ate in every night during our stay from their daily menu. Excellent choice of starters, main courses and puddings. Always a vegetarian option, meat and fish for the first two courses. Food beautifully presented. Staff courteous and very helpful in getting a hire car at very short notice for our last day. Good bus service around the island. Very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: We stayed (two couples) in rooms 9 and 10 on first floor - nice and quiet, away from staircase leadi...
