We have just returned from our second trip to this lovely, very friendly small hotel. We travelled as a family of 6, me and my husband and 2 daughters aged 16 and 12 and my parents. My girls had a separate room next door and we overlooked the beautiful pool area, which we made use of daily!
Our huge thanks and appreciation must go to Steve, the chef. My youngest daughter has a lot of severe food allergies, which means that we always holiday self catering; that is until we discovered the wonderful Steve last year. We spoke to Julie beforehand, who assured us that they could cater for Daisy again and on arrival Steve came and spoke to us and sorted her menu for the week. Her food was delicious and very plentiful and there was absolutely no problem at all. Steve and the really lovely waiting staff went out of their way to make her food look and taste delicious and to make her feel happy and comfortable.
As already mentioned before, the staff here are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to help in any way. Many thanks to Dan for his extra mints and fixing the telly!

Room Tip: Choose a pool side room

We stayed here for a short break in July and were very impressed with the service and site of the hotel. A short walk takes you onto the very beautiful coast path and its little coves. We took the free bus pass and travelled around the island by this means and our legs which was delightful. It is quite a hilly place and we did consider hiring a bike initially, but I'm glad we took the bus. We decided to just have breakfast, not the evening meal, but we wished some days that we had opted for eating at the hotel as pubs that serve food are few and far between and also quite expensive. Maybe next time! Guernsey as a holiday destination suits walkers, elderly fit people and families with young children, but there are some interesting attractions suitable for all ages. If you are looking for good service and friendly faces then you can do no wrong at the Blue Hoeizon.

The newly renovated heated pool and surrounds are brilliant for daily swims, sunning, reading and relaxing. The service is 'friendly' professional - personable, attentive, but not invasive. Breakfast and dinners still excellent value and variety. We opted (again) for the longer stay and accompanying bus tickets for transport around the island. Wine at the bar is inexpensive, as are the packed picnic lunches. July had a heatwave, but here it was most pleasant. Of course the location looks out over a constant blue horizon!

Room Tip: We had a large poolside room, but there are garden and sea view rooms too. Loved the poolside though...

I booked this hotel for an eight night holiday with my 94 year old Mum who has mobility difficulies. I had discussed Mum's needs with Julie before our arrival and our room No 12 was an excellent choice. I hired a raised toilet seat and wheelchair from the Health Care Equipment Centre which were delivered to hotel.Julie changed a chair in our room which was easier for Mum to get in and out of and moved another seat into the dining room for her as well. NOTHING was too much trouble!
As I am coeliac it was an excellent choice for me as well as all dietary needs are well catered for by the great chef Steve.
I can't recommend this Hotel Highly enough.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel and will return for a longer stay as soon as possible. From the very friendly welcome to our last breakfast I cannot fault this hotel. The bedroom, with extremely comfortable mattresses, was very well fitted with masses of storage space and good ensuite facilities, the dining room had beautiful sea views and the quality and presentation of the food served by friendly staff was worthy of a 4* rating. Admittedly our menu choice for dinner that night had to be made at breakfast but in no way was this a problem. A lovely heated outdoor pool with towels provided was also available and we fully intend to make use of this on our next visit. Beautiful cliff walks are only minutes away.

We booked this hotel at the last minute after leaving one we had previously booked for 3 nights in St Peter Port ,we stayed only one night and checked out . We rang the Blue Horizon and the staff were helpful and having spoken with Julie who was very busy with the hotel, we decided to stay in her "emergency" room. What a good decision that was, we had a lovely 2 night stay ,great breakfast ,good location, I can recommend this friendly, clean and tidy hotel ,it is good value for money and was 10 times better than the hotel we had booked in St Peter Port!!
Julie works hard to ensure all her guests are Happy, we certainly were.

I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Blue Horizon Hotel, with my husband and another couple. It is hard to put into words what a friendly and welcoming hotel this is, the reason being the constant knowledgeable presence of Julie and Ray, the proprietors, who are always on hand to help with everything. The hotel was hard to find when we first got off the ferry, but is not far from St Martins and situated close to the cliff path. There is a superb swimming pool, carefully maintained by Ray. The meals are also superb - wonderful breakfasts and an amazing choice for dinner, which is ordered in the morning so as to be freshly prepared, without waste. The garden is also a delight, as is the sociable bar, and we all quickly felt at home. I cannot speak highly enough of the service provided and the general air of leisure. Most of the guests seemed to return again and again. I recommend it for anyone who needs a restful and refreshing break, and I would love to go back again one day too.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor with patio doors opening onto the pool side. Ideal for swimmers!
