We came across this place last year when the cliff top was shrouded in mist. We were the only customers and enjoyed a long relaxed chat with the owner who had a lot to say about the island. This year the sun was shining and the amazing gardens and view could be appreciated to the full. Tables are tucked away in corners among the flowers and it feels like having tea in a private garden. A really lovely unusual place.

The cafe us situated at icart point where there are breathtaking sea views and a 500 meter walk down to le jonet - a beautiful beach protected by a small ladder. So its worth a trip before you get to the cafe. The cafe food itself is basic but reasonably priced - it doesn't try to be any thing else. The gardens are overgrown and you may expect to sit on a splinter in the worn out wooden benches. These are nestled into the flowers and low hanging branches. The ice creams are the great pull though. Previously movenpick now Als special concoction- delicious and pricey £2 for a small cornet with a scoop of icecream. Al will personally serve you with an extra measure of charm, banter and sales pitch. Al usually sports a suitably loud hawaian shirt and drives his mercedes with the number plate 365. What child can resist - a throwback to Paddingtom bear? And before you complain of the price of the ice creams Al needs to overwinter in Italy where no doubt he learns more about the latest flavours

Go on one of the many beautiful cliff walks around Guernsey then stop off for a freshly made sandwich, followed by a piece of homemade cake and finished off with a pot of tea or coffee. Lovely peaceful garden to sit in. Enjoy a laugh and joke with the owner. This tea garden is one of the best in the Island.
