6 of us met up for dinner, mid week, in the first floor restaurant, Both food & service were perfectly acceptable without quite hitting the heights that can be found elsewhere.

An enjoyable meal though.

The restaurant occupies a seafront building in the heart of St Peter Port. It’s on two levels, the attractive ground floor is a barrel vaulted room containing the bar, and offers both the a la carte and brasserie menus. The second floor is much larger, with a higher ceiling, and is lighter with the open plan kitchen on display to the rear, and views over the harbour to the front. The ground floor is sometimes used for live music, so for a quieter meal, upstairs would be the preferred choice. Upstairs does not offer the brasserie menu.

Booking ahead seemed to be essential. When booking a Sunday evening table earlier the same day there were others dropping in to do the same thing, and that evening the upstairs restaurant was full.

On arrival we were swiftly and efficiently shown to our table and pre-dinner drinks orders taken.

The sections of the menu detailing first and main courses, are complemented by shorter Chef’s Recommendations for the same, and dishes can be mixed and matched from both.

A starter of pan fried calamari with chorizo and chilli delivered well cooked squid, with just a gentle background heat.

A main of seafood linguine contained generous amounts of shellfish and prawns and was well flavoured, although it would have been preferred if the pasta had been al dente.

The wine list is varied and well priced, and all evening service was attentive, very friendly but never intrusive.

We've been to the Brasserie a couple of times lately, once for lunch and then a Friday evening. Each time the food was very good, the service and attitude of the staff first class and the sax in the evening the icing on the cake.

Had lunch here when on a mini cruise to Guernsey. Wasn't our first choice, as we'd decided to go to Pier 17 as that was much higher up on the trip advisor ratings, however as it was a Sunday Pier 17 was closed, along with most of the other restaurants and all the shops on Guernsey, it seemed. We stumbled across Mora, it was open, and the menu looked ok, so in we went. I am so glad everything else was closed, otherwise we would have missed this most perfect lunch I think I've ever had. My sister and I had the fish and chips, which was actually sea bass, brill, king prawns and scallops served with the most delicious posh mushy peas, fries and homemade tartare sauce. All of the fish was cooked to perfection, absolutely gorgeous. My husband had the mixed grill and my brother in law the chicken and bacon salad - both said they were delicious. Everything about Mora is great, decor is amazing, cutlery, crockery and glasses all fab, fabulousness fresh bread, staff great and service spot on, I can't recommend it highly enough, and if I ever return to Guernsey, will without doubt revisit Mora, probably more than once as there was such a lot on the menu I would love to try.

On a St Peter Port stop over on our Cruise to Iberia we dropped into this restaurant as the one we had visited previously was closed, (Sunday) wow so glad we did, we went inside as there were no available seating outdoors at the time of our visit (sitting outside was none other than The Jeremy Kyle having lunch with friends) this place was so so so good, we had a Chefs Board to share with lots and lots of Italian meats, Smoked Salmon and cheeses to die for £10.00 ...just wonderful, we also shared a Smoked Salmon Sandwich on brown bread £7.95 there was plenty of filling and this washed down with some vino, 1 x Large Shiraz cost £6.20 and 1 x Large Rioja cost £6.10......reasonable prices considering we were on the side of the port, we followed this with 2 x Liqueur Coffees cost £9.90........we sat at the bar and was able to see the Chefs platter being prepared with great gusto.....the service was spot on and this is a great place to unwind on a Sunday lunch by the Quay Side...indoor or out door dining .......if you get the chance to visit St Peter Port make sure you visit Mora Retauraunt & Grill .......you won't be disappointed ...........promises...........would defiantly recommend to any one .............if it's good enough for me then its good enough for Jeremy Kyle .........LOL...........
