“Our Best Restaurant Experience Among Many Guernsey Highlights”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

Surprised to see that Mora is not ranking higher in the reviews. My partner and I found it to be a very convivial restaurant with a choice of downstairs brassiere or upstairs a la carte. We opted for the latter and were not disappointed.

Prior to visiting our only recommendation was a local taxi driver - we had intended to go elsewhere but so glad we didn't.

Very good quality food on offer - just salivating remembering the scallops starter and cod wrapped in chorizo. My partner had the wild mushroom friccase and chicken which were also very scrummy indeed. Plates were scraped clean which is always good sign.

Add to that the very attentive staff, correct portion sizes and course timing (a guaranteed way to annoy me as a diner is to rush the main out the moment the fork goes down after the starter) and it's a sure fire winner

Also, please do take advantage of the downstairs cocktail bar before your meal - reasonable prices and no scrimping on the alcohol brands.

All in all, a great dining experience and on a return to Guernsey we will certainly head there again.

“Great location and atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Good menu choices, including the drinks menu. There are 2 menus, one for the brasserie downstairs and the other for the main restaurant upstairs - we sat downstairs but we're offered both menus.
Service was a little slow, but the place was packed.
Food was well cooked and well presented.

“Such a shame”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014 via mobile

This was my third visit first visit fantastic was seated in good time great food and service. Second time waited ages to be seated and waited ages for the food, thought I would try 3rd time lucky not so at least 40 mins to be seated a while to have our orders taken then almost an hour to have our main course table booked for 8:30pm main course 10:10pm. Ended up just paying for our meal everything else on the house and extremely apologetic. I think it is a case of greed booking in too many diners and slow table turning it's such a shame as this restaurant used to be brilliant.

“Very good steak and lobster”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We had dinner twice at this restaurant during our visit of Guernsey. We had steak + lobster the first time and the rib eye the second time. During both visits the service was very good (the second time in spite of the restaurant being very busy with a few large parties). The steak, lobster and rib eye were very good, and nicely served. The wine was also very good. We sat upstairs (the "a la carte" part of the restaurant, which is less busy and noisy than the brasserie downstairs), where you can enjoy a nice view of the harbor. The restaurant has a semi-open kitchen: you can see the chefs at work and may see your food prepared.
