Yes I am a big fan if Pier 17 and its owner / chef Seamus but for good reason.

Realiable high quality dining in a great atmosphere is why.

Whenever we have visitors we alwaystry to take them to Pier 17 and they are always wowed by the food.

OK the restaurant does not like much from the outside but the views from the inside are great and always changing.

My sister-in-law and her husband went with us two weeks ago and were blown away with the quality of the food and service. It was a great night. Seamus came over to make sure everything was OK.

I always look forward to eating here. Only another month and we will be back with our next visitors.

Everything worked well. The setting was nice, overlooking the harbour, the interior was classy but not fussy. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The food was excellent - exciting without being overblown. When I agonised over the choice between scallops or sea bass for my main course, our waitress made it easy by offering a half portion of scallops as a starter.
The wine list was pleasantly varied, without stupidly inflated prices. The whole experience was good.
I thought the bill was very reasonable for what we had; 2 people, 2 courses, lovely wine and coffee came to about £75.
If I can make one comment at all - tiny one - perfection would have been gold tipped if they had served a chocolate or petit four with the coffee. We were too full for dessert but yearned for a little something sweet.
If you are in St Peter Port, I thoroughly recommend this restaurant - best to reserve a table, it was busy.

extremely enjoyable food served in a neat and tastefully decorated restaurant (sit near the window if possible or, towards the left hand side wall they have a cosy little curved seating arrangement) There were several tables with birthdays etc. during the evening but it wasnt too noisy and staff coped extremely well, still providing their full attention.
Condor express droned as it arrived in the harbour and appeared to cause the restaurant ceiling/wall pictures to rattle - dont worry it doesnt last long!
Overall a really nice restaurant with excellent food varieties to its menus (especially fish).
Advise - book before you go, especially weekends.

An absolutely brilliant find - the food stunning, the service attentive but not interfering, and the atmosphere just right. Impossible to fault.

Arriving in St Peter Port on yet another "summer's" day of horrendous weather, we made a dash through the rain towards the rather unprepossessing Pier 17 in the hope of a cheering lunch, having read the very positive reviews on this website. Thankfully it lived up to its reputation once inside and they welcomed us despite our bedraggled appearance that didn't fit with their upmarket and refined decor.
We loved the look of the starters on the menu and asked if we could order 2 starters each, rather than a starter and a main, and the waiter was happy with this, advising that they were good sized dishes. We therefore tried the seafood chowder and chicken liver pate with toasted brioche for starters, followed by the crab cakes with mango chilli salsa and pan seared goats cheese starters as our "mains". All 4 dishes were to die for and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion size (c.£6 per starter). It was a lovely location, even with the rain lashing against the windows! Wish we had a restaurant like this near home.
