We had a beautiful view of the sea from our room. Cannot beat waking up to a view like that. The food was outstanding and amazing value for money. We went out to eat one night and decided we should have stayed at the hotel as we much preferred the menu. The hotel is only a few minutes walk along the sea front to the Centre of St Peter's Port, so great if you want easy access to the town or boat trips. Staff were very friendly and helpful and recommended places to visit. Would definitely recommend to friends.

I often find myself staying in Guernsey on business and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Good food, friendly staff and nice rooms with a beautiful views (Ask for a garden room if you are picky about a little noise)

Best thing – the view. Worst thing – the traffic.

La Piette is an older building with more modern updating and extensions. There is free wi-fi (unprotected). We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and efficient and at all times.

Parking is limited to 7 spaces at the front of the hotel, but there is a disc zone on a quay a couple of hundred yards away. The hotel is a 10 minute walk along the front from “down town” St Peter Port.

The hotel dining room is fairly small but has an adjoining Bistro extension with the same menu available. The food was good with a reasonable choice and a specials board often displaying fresh caught fish. Service was good but slower if the dining room/bistro was busy. There is also a small public bar.

We occupied room 1, at the front of the hotel. It is a large period room with modern décor. The en-suite shower room is small but beautifully executed. The room comes complete with all the essentials, including iron and ironing board, plentiful storage and wardrobe space, a flat screen TV and a table with mirror and hair dryer next to a window (praised by my wife when styling her hair). The view from this room is fantastic, facing south-east across a stretch of water to the islands of Herm, Jethou and Sark. Seacat ferries transit across this view at high tides. The room also looks out on La Salerie, a protected harbour and home to a dozen small boats. Given the high tidal range, the changing time, weather conditions and the stream of boats and ferries plying these waters, this is a constantly changing vista, never the same twice.

The downside of occupying a front room is that the main coast road passes feet from the hotel and is very busy at times. Lorries traveling to and from the docks can start very early in the morning. As I am a light sleeper this was annoying, but since I was awake anyway it at least gave me the opportunity to photograph the beautiful sun rise.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a great view, but can be noisy.

The hotel staff were very friendly and obliging.
The room was clean and comfortably furnished, with good ensuite facilities and an excellent shower. The bed was just the right softness/hardness and gave adequate support. The pillows however were very thin and therefore uncomfortably hard.
The first floor room had a good sea front view, but unfortunately was by the busy road into St Peter Port so noise was a problem. There is only single glazing and with a window open for ventilation the roar of the traffic is disturbing.
We had dinner twice at the bistro/restaurant during our stay and enjoyed our meals both times. There is a good medium priced menu. Breakfasts were also of a good quality with a wide choice.
There is a lively sea view bar which serves good bar meals and has attentive and friendly staff.
The location of the hotel in St Peter Port is good for local ameneties. A short walk to most places of interest.
Parking at the hotel is limited, but you should be able to find on street parking nearby or in the nearest harbour car park.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room then don't book one overlooking the sea front.

I am often over in Guernsey on business and always choose La Piette for its ambience and location, as it is so conveniently placed in between town (5-10 min walk/2 mins by taxi) & Admiral Park (5 min walk). After reading the last review made I am very surprised by their comments as it does not sound at all like the La Piette I regularly stay at. The hotel and rooms are always immaculately cleaned and the staff are so friendly. I will say that the rooms at the front of the hotel can be a little noiser as they are by the road side but what bothers some people does not bother others. If you are sensitive to noise then I recommend you ask for a Garden room away from the road. If you do want a seaview room then unfortunately there maybe a little more noise but I think worth it for the fantastic views you get of Herm and Sark. All in all I think this is a lovely place to stay and will definitely be a regular for years to come.
