The staff were very friendly and chatty. The one real ale (Randalls Patois) is a good one, which was always in good quality. The food was very good ranging from standard pub dishes, to paata and local dishes. Ideally situated next to the bus terminus, we were happy to spend quite a lot of the waiting time in here.

My wife and I ate here for lunch. The prices were comparable to the UK, the bar was modern and clean, and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was attractively served, and in our view better than average for a pub. My wife's Guernsey garlic mussels were plentiful and tasty.

We had two excellent meals in the Yacht during our stay. The menu is not extensive, but the food was very good, the staff were friendly and obliging, and on both visits the chef came to talk to us to ask if we had enjoyed the meal. He even shared a recipe with us! I would reommend a bar meal rather than the restaurant for better value. The menu is virtually the same but the price varies quite a bit. Definitely recommended for a visit.

We visited at the end of May 2010 - four friends who travel a lot and enjoy good food. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following evening and were again delighted! And the cost was really low.Excellent value.

A hidden little gem that is worth a visit. Originally a working man's pub, this has been recently refurbished and upgraded into a "boutique" bar and upstairs dining room, as well as cosy hotel.
Quite intimate and personal, the menu is varied and of excellent quality considering the price. The duck and meat dishes I tried were pleasing and plentiful. Good, attentive service (waitress even remembered my wife's Gluten-Free requirements) meant that our Valentine weekend went swimmingly-well.
The restaurant (and hotel) needs possibly to have its own reception area upstairs. Also - shame about the banging front door, but then after the third bottle of bubbly, who cares!
JLR Score: 35/50
