The hotel it's self is very outdated the fire system is something to be desired fire door leading to second floor only opens inwards then you have to take a step back up the stairs then step down again around the door. After 8 days stay the sheets and towels wrer never changed. The breakfast was adquate though the evening meal was not palatable . The staff and the landlady were pleasant enough but the landlord is something else if not pretty rude.he even threw his toys out of the pram.I congratulate the staff the way they put up with him. It's well worth spending a extra few pounds and staying somewhere different.Next time they have a inspection I hope the inspectors are wearing their glasses. NOT RECOMMEND

The 3 of us had appreciated the room, well furnished, the welcome of all the staff.
Parking in front of the hotel, English breakfast as much as you like, no problem to enter late.
The hostress is very carefull and has time for you.
We were happily surprised by the level of the prestation.
Please excuse my english.

Me & my colleague booked 2 single rooms for 3 nights & on arrival we were upgraded to 2 double rooms.
The rooms were clean & comfortable as were the en suites. The television was brand new.
We enterd the hotel late on 3 occasions & did not have trouble opening the front door.
The breakfast was either full English or continental, both were satisfactory. On one occasion, all the scrambled egg had been eaten but we were offered 2 freshly cooked fried eggs - no complaints there! We found everyone at the hotel friendly, helpful & courteous.
I think NKV16 is a bit too picky, after all this hotel is just a 2 star & this is reflected in the price.

I did not have much choise as there were no single rooms in other hotels, but now I know why...

The room was not that bad, the furniture dated from 1970s but nothing was broken, the only thing that was new was a TV set. I found drawers covered with dirty paper napkins, but otherwise it was pretty clean. The main problem was the bathroom: the shower was really weird and could hardly reach my nose, although I am not that high (185 cm / 6'1")

Entering the hotel in the evening was an adventure. The front door is locked during the night, but all guests have a key that should normally open it. However, I have found the door locked from inside, with no staff in the hotel, and owner's phone was permanently engaged. We had to get into the backyard and knock on the window of a guest living on the ground floor to ask him to open us the door! The owner's reaction next morning was not really rude, but certainly not polite.

The breakfast was pretty bad: 20 minutes after it started some items were already missing. Toasts were just disgusting, but that was because their jam expired half a year ago! The waitress was surprised and couldn't explain how this could happen.

I have paid 46 pounds for one night, which is way too expensive for such level of service. Just avoid this hotel and look for any other option.

There are a lot of poor reviews on here for this hotel, but it seems they are mostly from single travellers, so my wife and I were hopeful of a reasonable stay in a room for a couple...and to be honest, it was OK. We stayed in 2 different rooms as we had a few days in the middle of our trip on Sark. Both rooms were smallish, but clean and tidy if not luxurious. The breakfast was fine and the eastern european chef's daily greeting of "good morning man and lady" made us chuckle.

You could voice a lot of small criticisms about this place - the decor is pretty tired, coffee at breakfast is from a machine you might find in your office, the proprietors might seem aloof to some people, but make conversation with them, they're nice people. The shower was a bit weak, but I guess that's a pressure issue.... lot's of little niggles, but on the whole it serves its purpose of being a cheapish hotel with few frills. After all, you just need somewhere to wash and get your head down each night. What you have to bear in mind is that this is one of the cheapest B&Bs on an island where hotel accomodation is not cheap. So if you want a nice hotel, be prepared to pay well over £100 a night for it, but if you insist on a good hotel where you want to spend a bit of time, you're missing out on Guernsey.

This Hotel should be removed from any listing save 'Fawlty Towers'. The owners are rude and inefficient giving a bad service in lousy surroundings with an attitude of "we've got your money and now we don't care as you can see from what is on offer".

Room Tip: Go elsewhere!!
