“Short Break”

Faultless hotel, good food, great pool ,with extras, nice touch to see shower gel in changing rooms ,and plastic bags to take wet stuff back to room. Bed room was clean and well serviced. The oak bar has quite a good menu, but tended to be busy at times. Breakfast was large and hot. All the staff were polite and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would not bother to stay anywhere else as this hotel as said is faultless!!!!-

Room Tip: Standard rooms are good. Stayed at rear, no noise at all.

I stayed here with a friend for the weekend in a twin room. I found the single beds quite slim (an used to a double bed and fidget a lot) so the first night nearly fell off a few times. The mattresses are also very springy do any slight movement produced a lot of bouncing. The bathroom was very big and the room was very clean. It was pleasant and does what you need it to do.

The Health Suite came included. We tried out the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. There's also a mini gym attached (but has everything you'd need) and a swimming pool. Again, all very clean and facilities were up to date.

Now onto my favourite part, The Oaks Restaurant. There is a wide selection of foods for breakfast; all either cooked to order or baked on the same day so very fresh (cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, pastries, granola, bread, ham and cheeses). There's also the option of a cooked breakfast, which is massive and all done to order (tasted lovely!). You could have a full English or a traditional guernsey breakfast or even omelettes. My first full English included toast, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, eggs how you like, hash brown, black pudding, tomato, baked beans and mushrooms...immense...I couldn't finish it. If you have the opportunity to have dinner here then I would definitely take it. You had the option of 2 courses for £15.95 or 3 for £21.95. There's also the option of steak with a Chateaubriand coming in at £40 for 2. I had the Duck Liver Pâté to start (amazing!) and the Lamb Shoulder and Shank for main (best I've had in a while). The chef also gave us a smoked mackerel pâté, compliments of him, which was very tasty and I don't normally like it.

The decor is a little outdated but overall a lovely place to stay. You won't be disappointed.

We have just returned from a extended stay in Guernsey, we arrived on the Friday and were expected to leave on the Monday, due to severe weather (snow) appears the worse in 30 years, we did not leave until the Wednesday.
Thank goodness we were staying at the Les Rocquettes. From the moment we booked in we were made to feel welcome, nothing seemed to much trouble for the staff, from Reception and Restaurant, to the Oaks bar.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean, toiletries supplied were of good quality and replenished daily.
Breakfast was excellent, all our party have put on weight!
We dined at the Restaurant one night, and the food was beautifully cooked and presented and delicious. One of our party is a vegetarian, and the Chef offered another 2 choices as well as vegetarian option on the menu.
When it became apparent that we would not be able to leave when planned, the hotel management and staff could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the disruption was dealt with completely professionally.
We have nothing but the highest praise for this fantastic hotel.

We will go back to this hotel, and highly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Our party stayed in rooms 323 and 328 and would recommend both

This is a great value hotel. Pool, lovely food and a stroll into Town. The restaurant and bar food are great and they have a great team. Nothing was too much trouble even though it was valentines night and i sat on my own like a very sad person.

I'd like to thank the staff and management at Les Rocquettes hotel for looking after us last week. We had a great time and were very pleased with our choice of hotel, a choice that had taken some time to arrive at as we didn't know Guernsey at all. The hotel has everything that you could want in a hotel including a busy thriving bar and excellent restaurant. The fact that the facilities are open to the public gives the place a certain vibrancy. And the food in both the bar and restaurant are excellent. The popularity amongst locals is testament to this. The breakfasts were also good with a wide choice from cereals to "full English" (full Guernsey?) to kippers and haddock. All included in our B+B rate.
The hotel staff are exceptional - efficient and polite, and there are plenty of them so no worries about getting served in a timely manner.
One of our criteria was parking and the hotel does have "ample" parking as they say on their website. Although at times very busy, we never had a problem parking at the hotel which has two large car parks. Of course this does mean a trek into town but we didn't find this a problem. It takes about 12 to 15 minutes to walk down the hill into St Peter Port and a bit longer getting back. We did this walk at least twice a day and only got a taxi once when it was raining (for about a fiver). On most occasions we were returning after having a meal in town so the walk was welcome.
There was one niggly little thing... the tables for two in the restaurant are far too small for two people. We did find that a bit irritating but it's a minor thing in the general scheme of things.

Popped in for a meal and beer with mate- very nice stroganoff. Then refreshments after dad's funeral in light airy space with fountain - afternoon tea for 40 fresh food and excellent value. Recommended.
