Description: A warm Guernsey welcome awaits you at the Old Quarter Restaurant from Paddy, Dana and the staff. This is honest, no nonsense food with a slight Irish slant as you would only expect from Paddy's home roots. The Restaurant prides itself on using as much locally sourced ingredients as possible; fresh from the land and the sea the taste of Guernsey comes out in every dish. Paddy and the team are keen to show off the best of what Guernsey has on offer each season and the menu changes to reflect this. Our cosy restaurant caters for parties up to fifty people, so whether its a business meeting over lunch or an intimate dinner for two we will always do everything to meet your expectations. We are also very flexible with our menus and happy to adapt to your needs where possible. You will find us at the centre of the Old Quarter among a mixture of antique dealers, art gallery's, craft shops, fashion boutiques and unique privately run shops of all types and descriptions. With its narrow cobbled streets it really is like going back in time to what most of the town of St Peter Port once looked like, but with a modern twist of quaint little shops. Any stroll around town is not complete without a trip up Mill and Mansell Street, why not cap it off with a light lunch or and early evening meal.

After an unpromising start, this turned out to be a good evening. Paddy's Irish influenced menu was was wholesome and tasty, and was supported by a decent wine list. The service was cheerful and friendly, enhanced by Paddy himself who had clearly kissed the Blarney Stone on more than one occasion.

My husband and I visited Guernsey for a week in May to walk the Coast Path. An unexpected bonus was the wonderful restaurants we found. At the top of the list was the Old Quarter where we tried the early bird menu. The food was amazing, the service wonderful, and the presentation was beautiful. The chef came to speak to us about the soda bread which we had never had before and on our second visit he came out just to chat. The restaurant is filled with atmosphere and loaded with character. We felt comfortable and relaxed; we felt very welcomed and we felt like we ate like royalty.

First trip to Guernsey so consulted Tripadvisor for restaurant reviews. The Old Quarter sounded our style, but when we tried to book it was full. However, Paddy offered us his 'window table' which we now know is in the bar area, and accepted gratefully. We were made so welcome by all the enthusiastic and friendly staff, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really lively and bubbly. The menu is superb, and the food even more so! We particularly like fish, and there was an excellent choice. The dishes we chose were cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully . Paddy himself came out of the kitchen to chat once he had completed the service, and clearly the restaurant is his passion. We had such a fabulous meal that we immediately rebooked for the following evening, when the whole experience was every bit as good. We plan to return to Guernsey, and The Old Quarter will be a priority for a revisit.

This little bistro restaurant tucked away in the cobbled streets of Guernsey is definitely worth a visit. Great food and great value for money. You certainly do not need a steak knife to cut through their mouth watering steaks - superb quality cooking! A great place to meet friends, have family occasions and have a romantic meal for two. Friendly staff who cater to your every need and a realy buzzy atmosphere. Well worth a visit (or two!)

Lovely building and atmosphere. The menu was extensive. We were so spoilt for choice we went back twice more in a three day stay. Its the sort of place where you just want to eat your way through the entire menu. No micro greens or pea sprouts positioned with tweezers, just generous portions of fresh local produce beautifully cooked and served in a way that made every mouthful a delight.
