Description: A warm Guernsey welcome awaits you at the Old Quarter Restaurant from Paddy, Dana and the staff. This is honest, no nonsense food with a slight Irish slant as you would only expect from Paddy's home roots. The Restaurant prides itself on using as much locally sourced ingredients as possible; fresh from the land and the sea the taste of Guernsey comes out in every dish. Paddy and the team are keen to show off the best of what Guernsey has on offer each season and the menu changes to reflect this. Our cosy restaurant caters for parties up to fifty people, so whether its a business meeting over lunch or an intimate dinner for two we will always do everything to meet your expectations. We are also very flexible with our menus and happy to adapt to your needs where possible. You will find us at the centre of the Old Quarter among a mixture of antique dealers, art gallery's, craft shops, fashion boutiques and unique privately run shops of all types and descriptions. With its narrow cobbled streets it really is like going back in time to what most of the town of St Peter Port once looked like, but with a modern twist of quaint little shops. Any stroll around town is not complete without a trip up Mill and Mansell Street, why not cap it off with a light lunch or and early evening meal.

“Excellent meal - worth seeking out this gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

We checked Trip Advisor to find a good place to eat and liked the look of the reviews on the Old Quarter. It's a little hidden up the back street of St Peter Port but only about a 5 minute walk from the harbour and well worth seeking out. We were greeted by a lovely waitress, the tableware was all sparkling and the bread was accompanied by homemade pate. The food was delicious and my starter - scallops wrapped in bacon was absolutely spot on and hubby's crab terrine was also great. Mains were super too. Paddy - the owner and chef popped out and had a chat to everyone including us - making us feel very welcome. The only criticism would be that the decor is a little out dated but we will definitely go back next time we visit Guernsey.

“Return to Paddys”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

After having a fantastic meal here last year we were very keen to come back, so on walking past during the day popped in and booked for the evening.

We were shown to our table in this cozy restaurant and were soon served with our drinks. Fresh bread was brought to the table and we ordered our meal. Again we went for the sizzling platter of fillet steak cooked to perfection and tender as you like. This comes on a bed of onions and mushrooms with bernaise sauce, and chunky home made chips. Lovely.
Paddy (the owner/chef) once again came out to greet us as he did with other customers and we were made to feel very welcome. I cannot recommend The Old Quarter enough.

“Wonderful Food”

The food was superb and we were able to choose from an extensive menu. Service was, however, extremely slow and extra staff would have perhaps solved the problem. We did appreciate a lovely atmosphere

“Worth the effort to find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

The Old Quarter is near the top of Mansell Street, and takes a little finding, but worth doing so. Needs booking, as we only squeezed at 9pm with 2 days notice. Run by an Irish family, which explains a menu with lots of seafood, but also lots of champ! Large portions, with the surf n turf of tender steak and half lobster especially filling, so didn't get to pudding! Mushroom and goats cheese, and scallops wrapped in bacon, were specials from the starter menu, both really good. Our other main was the sea bass, which my girlfriend said was her best course of the holiday. A very good value Shiraz topped off a fun evening.
