We recently spent a week in Guernsey and one night decided to eat at this hotel, It was one of the best meals we had, having eaten at several others previously, The staff were very charming especially Aitor who was very polite, efficient and worked very hard to make our dining experience a night to remember. The food was excellent in taste and price too. Definately recommmened,

We stayed at the de Havelet for a weekend break with friends and were pleased to find ourselves at an hotel that in our experience, exceeded its three star rating. Best bits - the staff and the food. From arrival to departure, all staff from the General Manager to the Trainees were very professional with a friendly, efficient and helpful approach to providing an excellent, attentive service at all times. The choice of meals was extensive and all our selections proved to be cooked, presented and served to a very high standard. We chose our evening meals from the excellent value for money "Summer Menu for two" enjoying all of the delicious meals selected, always served with a friendly word and smile from the staff. The rooms were good, large and well presented. We enjoyed relaxing times in the excellent spa at the end of each day sightseeing. The free bus service into St Peter Port was handy especially for the return as the hotel sits at the top of an initially steep street, although this does provide lovely views over Havelet Bay and Castle Cornet. We'd happlily stay at Hotel de Havelet on our next visit to Guernsey.

We have stayed in various hotels in Guernsey during the past 30 years and the De Havelet is definitely the best to date. A good room, excellent food, very friendly and efficient staff. What more could you ask for! We will return here next time we visit the Island.

We stayed here with friends for three nights over a weekend and had a brilliant time. The hotel met all our expectations regarding the accommodation and excelled itself when it came to the staff and the restaurant. The staff are obviously well-trained and professional, but are very friendly and welcoming. The General Manager didn't hide away in an office, but circulated throughout the day, checking with the guests that there were no problems. The choice of breakfasts was very good (we stayed on a B&B basis), and the quality, freshness and presentation were excellent. Our original plan had been to eat at the hotel on our first night and then make the 10 minute walk into the town on subsequent nights - but the experience on the first night was so good that we ate at the hotel on all three evenings. The "Summer Menu" for two sharing is very good value and the dishes on offer were delicious.

The hotel is up a steep hill, so include this in your trip planning! We used the hotel's courtesy bus on a couple of occasions.

We have stayed 8 times at the Havelet. We enjoy the comfort of the guest rooms reserved for us, and the food is excellent. The staff throughout the hotel are high quality personnel. Well-trained and always providing that ambience aimed just at you! A smile from them is the hotel's way of keeping you happy. And it works. The swimming pool, saunas, and jacuzzi are maintained to a very high standard as are the gardens. Well done, de Havelet! We'll see you again soon.

Quality Hotel, perfectly placed above the quiet end of St Peter Port. Wonderful views over Castle Cornet with the Island of Herm in the near distance. Staff are very attentive, the pool and jacuzzi are small but good quality. The gardens and trees are beautiful and a good place to relax. The Wellington Boot restaurant has amazing views and all 3 restuarants serve high quality food. The Saddle Bar is a great place to relax with a bite to eat and your choice of drink either in the afternoon or for a relaxing evening before bedtime. Jan the bar manager makes the most amazing Coffees and we awarded him the title of "World Cappuccino Champion" after a competition with his colleague. Rooms are large and beds are King Size and very comfortable. The hotel runs a scheduled mini-bus to and from Town for those who need it. There's even a tunnel from the main hotel to the restuarant to save guests getting wet walking the 20yd journey. Cannot fault this wonderful hotel and looking forward to making a return there soon for our silver wedding anniversary. Only down side is it's on a steep hill but not a problem if you're in good health. The elderly would be recommended to hire a car or make use of the mini-bus.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but a superior room for approx £10 extra per night might have a better view
