“Ok”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

We went this evening for a Quids-in chateaubriand with cocktails. It was ok. Salad was very nice, steak ok, chips quite nice but had a garlic flavouring which might not be to everyone's taste - should be able to choose! The cocktail I had was a mojito, but It tasted as though it was made with a diet mixer. I should have said when I first tasted it, but didn't, so can't complain too much, but I do think they should offer the choice. I dislike diet drinks and don't approve of them generally anyway. They were kind enough to allow my hubby to have a lager instead of a cocktail - not his style!
The experience was not helped by the fact that we were not very warm. Maybe we should have mentioned that too, but the fact that another lady was sat eating her meal with her coat on should have given them a clue! There even appeared to be heaters on outside on the terrace, which seemed somewhat ludicrous when we were chilly inside, and it was blowing at least gale force 8 outside, and getting stronger!
The staff were very pleasant, and we did enjoy our coffee.

+ good atmosphere
+ good drinks
- slow service
- food was uninspiring
- expensive
- lack of ventilation

The food here is ok but far too expensive. Starters were satisfactory but nothing special. Main course of steak fajitas was nice but there wasn't enough for 2 people. I wouldn't go again as there are much better restaurants in guernsey, that are less expensive.
