“FANTASTIC VALUE WITH GREAT FOOD & GREAT VIEWS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2012

Just got back from an amazing week at this unassuming gem. We booked a package through an agency called Island Getaways and we were very sceptical because the price seemed so low. We need not have worried. Everything was way beyond expectation. The hotel is admittedly a little dated but the warm welcome and attentive staff made up for this 100 times over. The food was great. The owner is Mr Frost and he is chef. You've got to try either the 'Frosties steak platter' or Frosties seafood platter' (or both)! The very, very best bit for us was the location, right on the beach looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. Amazing. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and, indeed, we've already told Mr Frost we'll be back in the Autumn.

For the money you pay, L'Eree Bay Hotel has a lot going for it. The staff could not be nicer; the seafood in the Brassiere is some of the best and most reasonably priced I have had in ages, and the breakfasts are decent. The hotel is somewhat dated but the rooms were clean and neat and most have sea views. The two biggest negatives for us were the beds and pillows--just not that comfortable and my wife, in particular, found it hard to have a good night's sleep, and the noise from adjoining rooms and the pub below on Saturday night. Next time we would pay a little more and go to another hotel to avoid these inconveniences. But that is just personal preference. Others might find this hotel perfectly acceptable given the price and what you get for it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not above the pub or perhaps for a corner room so you have only one adjoining...

Just returned from a short stay(4 nights).Lovely sea view.Staff ,although very busy, were pleasant, polite and attentive(the waitress even remembered we needed a glass of water at breakfast).Food first class.Hotel clean, room comfortable.O.K. Could be said decor was dated ,but if you want to stay at the"Ritz" you have to pay the price and this hotel was good value for the money. One drawback. As the brasserie is open to the locals be prepared for a "cool" atmosphere---not from the staff but the islanders.
Although we hired a car the bus service is very good and inexpensive, and it would be worth comparing costs.

Stayed at this hotel for seven nights recently with friends. The food was exceptional in the brasserie and the staff very friendly. It is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. Rooms very clean but very dated. Some serious DIY needed around this hotel. Shelves hanging off walls or at such an angle that everything slides off!. We had a family room for two and needed to use one of the single duvets as well as the double otherwise one of us was always on the outside. Never any changes in the breakfast menu and regularly we had to wait for more eggs-still at least we then knew they were freshly cooked. Fabulous location but please update your bedrooms.

Stayed again at this nice hotel in good location. Better this year as it was minus the road works outside. Already been said that it needs some serious updating but that said it wouldnt be the price that it is if it was!! Food again very good and staff very friendly. Television in room had no reception most of the time so that needs sorting. Apparently it was aerial on roof problem!!!

Very good accommodation and excellent food. Very friendly helpful staff. Ignore previous comments regarding closure of this hotel. I spoke to the proprioter ... definately not closing or being re-built. Will certainly return here

Tricky to review this hotel as the bedrooms and breakfast room are in urgent need of updating (the shower is in a very silly position on the wall and the bathroom generally is tired) but the bar and brasserie are lovely and the food in the brasserie is great. The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The current owner/manager/chef is leaving in November so no doubt there will be changes then. Enjoy 'Frosty's Specials' in the Brasserie while you can - especially the fab scallops. The breakfast is very average and unless you are up early, the fried eggs are sad and congealed. Overall, we had a lovely stay there and any negatives were more than made up for by the wonderful location on a particularly lovely section of the coast and our break with Holiday Getaways was excellent value.

Room Tip: We had room 18 which has a nice view and is spacious being a family room - tip, the little pink hair...
