“Excellent Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2011

Not stayed here as my daughter only lives 5 minutes walk away. Went for Sunday lunch on 23rd October. It was excellent, the rare beef was superb,(well done also available) good roasties and yorkshires and lots of lovely fresh veg. Meat and fish starters looked good but had the soup and it was yummy. There was only a choice of beef and cooked ham so perhaps another choice would be good. Didn't have desert as no room but looked good. Very good value for 3 courses but I think it might be good to have a lesser price if you only want 2 courses. Booked for Boxing day and I don't go anywhere a second time unless it is good. The hotel could do with some updating and TLC but it was clean.

Only ate for £10 but food quality and quantity were superb. Loads of choice for vegetarians highly recommended. Decor a bit dated, but OK

Sabrina who owns the hotel was a really helpful lady and she offered us loads of great info and a really warm welcome. I would say that our room was rather small and a little outdated, it did however feel very clean. This hotel was very affordable compared to others in Guernsey and would be great for a couple of nights. There aren't many places to eat that are close by so you do have to eat in the hotel. The hotel did some good pub-grub lunches.

Overall the hotel is in need of some TLC but it is clean and the food and service were excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely, friendly, cosy hotel with superb views over Roquaine bay. If you've ever stayed in a shearings hotel, this will give you some idea as to what the interior is like. slightly dated, in need of refurbishment here and there, but don't let this put you off. Everywhere is very clean, and the staff are extremely helpful. There isn't a lift but someone will help with cases if necessary. Sabrina the hotelier is around most mornings and is more than willing to help/advise to help make your stay more enjoyable. We opted for a sea view which was well worth it. The bar/restaurant was excellent. Sea views from your table. The food far exceeded our expectations. Quite a varied choice for vegetarians. The bus stop was right outside the hotel too, so no real need for a car as the sevice is very good. The last bus arrives back approx 8pm, but there are a couple of restaurants just a few stops away (instead of going into town) if you want a change from the hotel. We can recommend "A Taste of India" at L'Eree bay. If you like walking, the cliff path along the south coast begins from the hotel. One of the most stunning coastines in Europe. We have been to Guernsey several times but this is our first, but definitely not our last, stay at the Imperial.

Room Tip: Sea view is worth the extra. Room 9 is lovely, spacious with panoramic views over Roquaine bay, but...

Had a 3 night half board break in large room with sea view. The hotel is quiet, clean, has welcoming staff and excellent choice of food. Only surprise was that hotel was only 2 star! The location is also superb well away from the hustle and bustle of St Peter Port. Only very minor criticism is door on landing desperately needs some WD40 to stop squeaking!!

Room Tip: Room 9 is large

This is quite a nice hotel, me and a friend went there for a wedding and had separate rooms; they were both double rooms (as that's all they had left) but one of the rooms (room 7) was very nice & quite big but the other (room 1 I think) was smaller and not quite as nice but still a nice room, just possibly a little crapped with two people in it.

Despite what some people have said here the food is great, we only ate for an evening meal there one night but had the fish & chips & Sea Bass both of which were really good, breakfasts are really good too.

Staff are nice an friendly & quite helpful, nice place to stay although was a bit out of the way of where we needed to be but that's nothing to do with the hotel itself. Would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 7 is quite roomy & nice but the window doesn't stay open by itself. I think room 4 h...
