“Wow! Amazing setting, excellent food”
Reviewed 5 June 2012

Worth travelling to the channel Islands for. The setting is breathtaking and the food a match for it. Hosts Rui and Angelina are most welcoming and had the ability to make first time visitors feel like old friends!
Our compliments to the chef.

We will be back real soon!!

“Little Gem at the Gouffre”
Reviewed 4 June 2012

After looking for somewhere to eat that we hadn't been to before we had a suggestion from a friend that the Gouffre was under new management and that it had an excellent reputation.

We managed to book a table for 1915 on a Friday eveing and we arrived and were greeted by the Manager who asked us if we would like have a drink and sit in the bar area whilst ordering our food.

We looked at the comprehensive menu and made our decisions on food and wine and then were taken to our table.

We did not order any starters but two of us ordered fish and chips which came out in a deep fat fyer basket and the beautiful homemade chips were on purpose made newspaper , the portion was really big infact we could not eat it all but it was beautiful,

My husband had the pork and our friend had fresh brill , we all agreed the food and the abiance was excellent , we were so full up but when the dessert menu was given to us we decided to share a bonoffee between two of us but infact we ended sharing it three ways, we ordered a couple of Irish Coffees and two lattes and we just sat there talking until nearly 2300.

We were never rushed and had a wonderful evening , the bill came to £97.00 for four of us which we thought was excellent for such a lovely restaurant and setting, we will definately go there again

“New management, new menu”
Reviewed 13 May 2012

Set on a cliff top this restaurant has lots going for it. They also open during the day to service hungry and thirsty cliff walkers enjoying the great scenery on the south coast cliff paths. Previous ownership started well but slipped away of late. This has been reversed with the introduction of a new menu and attentive service. A wide variety of main course dishes but a more limited starter selection.
The food is varied with a good choice of meat and local fresh fish available. A homemade black pudding with poached egg was excellent. The steak was delivered as ordered and was tender but lacked a depth of flavour. Fresh sea bass fillets were perfectly prepared and well presented.
A good atmoshpere and well worth a visit.
