Sat on the banks of the River Exe overlooking the weir, it is hard to imagine a more perfect location for a pub. If you want relaxing drinks and chat in a peaceful, beautiful location - it is hard to beat! You can eat outside but the internal seating in the bar area is open fronted affording lovely views of the river and ancient bridge. The young complement of staff were efficient, polite and friendly.
The food was nice but I thought my burger and chips was expensive. Admittedly, it was a 'homemade' steak burger, but it only came with a few chunky chips and with 2 additional toppings of a single flat mushroom and bacon (which the chef forgot to include), it was just shy of £13. I would think £10ish would be a more reasonable asking price for that meal. However, the bar seemed to have a good selection of beers which was great for cooling down on a warm, sunny afternoon.
