This place was a tonic and charming in every way. Delightful views, small but well-furnished bedrooms and good food. The owners have given great attention to detail in retaining the period charm of this lovely old hotel, but the rooms have good facilities and are very clean and comfortable. Peace and quiet surround the place, and we found that it compared very well with the depressingly mediocre Tides Reach Hotel in nearby Salcombe.
We found the place very friendly and convenient. It is unpretentious yet elegant, and many a larger hotel could learn a lot from it.
