“Beautiful beach shame about the cafe”

A nice day out on the beach marred only by the café ripping people off.
Buy a large brew for 80p more than a medium and the only difference is the shape of the cup.

My Dad down visiting noticed this and filled a medium cup with seawater to the rim and poured it into the 'large' cup which it filled to the rim! I know these businesses have to make their money during the short summer but let's do it honest guys at £3.70 for a large brew (20p dearer than a bottle of local brewed real ale on the Dart) it would be nice to get what one pays for.

The beach itself is nice and sandy, also kept clean despite being 'dog friendly' which is more than can be said for some. The lifeguards are great with the kids and the beach shelves nice and steadily making it a good bathing beach too. The samphire growing on the rocks is tasty too.

The beach can't get any better. It is wide, sandy, and absolutely pristine. When the tide is out you can walk great distances. The water is shallow for children playing and makes for great wading. There are public restrooms and a decent fast food vendor for lunch and ice cream. You can easily make a wonderful day out of visit. Well worth trying to get there.

Bigbury Beach is an amazing place. Plenty to do for the whole family. The surf school offer surfing tuition by friendly staff. Our daughter loved this. The beach is in easy reach from the car park and has lifeguards in attendance. Burgh Island can be walked to when the tide is out - well worth it. Will definitely be back.

Lovely beach & tea shop with amazing views over to Burgh Island. Interesting & unusual sea tractor to the island at high tide!
