“Fabulous, welcoming, cosy, every touch thought of”

I've stayed in a few B&B's on various surf trips and Long Cottage has really been the very best of them all. Every little touch has been thought of to make your stay perfect. The facilities for surfers are excellent including a bath! We even came in to find our suits had been moved closer to the boiler to dry out - just what you need during a freezing winter break.

The owners of the B&B are the friendliest we've ever encountered, interested in who your are and keen to make your stay perfect in every way. The pre-printed directions to and from all local beaches and villages were extremely useful, and if in any doubt follow 'cycle route 27' - it worked for us!

We cannot recommend this B&B more and will definitely be returning regularly - we found it hard to leave!

Had a wonderful weekend staying at the cottage. Brilliant for surfing and just playing at the seaside, great advice from a friendly welcoming Simon and Karine about the local beaches and pubs.
Lovely room very peaceful. Great walk into the village, lovely place to spend time with sisters.
Can't wait to come back for the breakfest and the store of buscuits in the cupboard : )
Thanks very much Simon and Karine.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to attend a friend's wedding near Croyde. This was one of several places to stay that she recommended to her guests.
We were not disappointed. From the beginning we were given clear directions on how to get there (North Devon is a scary place for urbanites). The room was comfortable and cosy and the decor was lovely and inviting. We had a separate bathroom (not an ensuite) but it had all the mod cons and was super stylish as well.
There is a separate living/ dining area for guests with a mini library. I struck a gold mine as there were about to donate books to a charity shop and I was able to bag myself quite a few classics which was great (on the second day I went back for more).
Breakfast was also amazing and we would definitely stay here again if visiting North Devon.
PS There is a certain island unit in their personal kitchen that needs finishing- Simon know what I mean!!

B&B in a tranquil rural location, a few minutes drive from the beach and 20 min walk from the pub. Rooms are big, light & airy. The guest sitting room is very useful and makes the place very homely. Breakfast was delicious (and huge!). Simon and Karine were very friendly welcoming hosts and we will definitely be going back again.

We arrived quite late on a thursday night for a surfing week end in Croyde and were welcomed by Simon who runs the long cottage and his wife Karine. Both of them explained to us all we needed to enjoy our stay in Devon including the so precious 'lanes plan' to drive in the area. The cottage is a very good looking house and the rooms are nicely decorated and very very comfortable. It looks clean and well looked after. You can see how much work Simon and Karine have put in their house and Simon will happily talk you through which makes the work even more impressive. The breakfast is a proper treat with delicious croissants, fresh fruits salad, orange juice and nutella (yepee !!!!!) if you go for the continental or a huge full English breakfast if you are into it like my English friend was. It was so big that he couldn't speak for the whole breakfast, enjoying his sausage, mushrooms and beans, which was a bliss for me, i was able to read without being disturb. I can only recommend the long cottage for your stay in Devon. Say hello to Simon and Karine for me !

We decided to go surfing right at the last minute and happened upon this little gem just outside of Croyde and Braunton. Once you get used to the tiny roads and get your bearings you realise how perfectly situated this place is for the local beaches, then when you meet Simon you realise just how good this place is. The rooms are lovely and the lounge area is brilliant for just chilling out, there's also a place for you to clean and dry your wet suits. The brekkie was great even though Simon said he was the backup chef :) We'll definitely be back and next time we'll stay for longer!!!!
