1. We were told there were no spaces left to book on the phone but there would be spaces available if we turned up!?! Seems weird .
2. We were told that we couldn't stay in the top campsite with our friends as vans weren't allowed up there.
3. We were then told that we wouldn't be bale to leave the campsite between 11pm and 8am as the gates were locked. As we had come for an early morning surf this wasn't an option for us so we slept in our van on the concrete at the reception (still paid £26 for one night though!!) . 4. We were then told that there would be a day visitors fee if we wanted to visit our friends (who were staying 2 nights - us only 1) after check out the next day.

Had any of the above been explained to us in a friendly manner we could have understood the, albeit stupid, rules, however we were faced with rude owners who clearly weren't interested in little old us (maybe cause we are in a chap van and not from London so clearly don't have the money they're used to!?!?).

In addition, the showers were cold, you have to hire hair dryers (due to the socket you can't use your own) and the only food is a little bugger van!?. The campsite is filed with rule after rule after rule and seriously isn't somewhere to go if you're after a chilled out camping trip!! After a fantastic week at a campsite in Cornwall (read my other review if you want to see I am a fair reviewer and don't ask for much!), we were so disappoined by Lobb Fields and definitely will not return. I won't give them terrible, as the toilets were clean and grass cut.

Stayed here on recommendation of a nearby campsite because we had dog and booked without looking t any other reviews. The site has 3 large fields but the staff seemed intent on filling the lower field rather than spreading the campers out. There is limited electrical hook up which doesn't help. We were placed on the route to the toilet block and although there are clearly marked pitches our fellow campers were blind to them. We asked to move but were informed that this was impossible because it was on the computer and couldn't be changed! Overall, the site was expensive, there a better in the local area, stay somewhere else.

What a wonderful place this is! We have just returned from a week's camping with our 10 month old daughter. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were clean with lovely hot showers (for free) which was great after spending a day on the beach. They had a family showering room but we didn't use it. Great location, not too far from Saunton Sands and the local conveniences of Braunton. Somewhere to charge phones would have been great. 10/10.

We have been here a few times now and we've never been disappointed. Ideal location for sight seeing, loads of space, friendly staff and great facilities. Also very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be going back soon.

This is a perfect campsite, great staff, great location, 5 min drive to the beach, 10 min walk to the town..
showers always hot, even got a wetsuit cleaning area.
on site surf hire and butty van for the mornings you dont want to cook!
we stay here at least four or five times a year.

Room Tip: All pitches are good, most are pretty level even up on the triangle.
